2 Here are some more of Father Tom s scattered thoughts for Palm Sunday. My dear Parishioners, 1. I hope and pray that your Lenten season has been going well and that you are enjoying every moment of it. 2. Palm Sunday is the beginning of Holy Week. Holy Week is the most sacred time of the Church s year. It highlights the peak moments of Christ s love for us, gives us an opportunity to look at our lives and accept the responsibility for our sins. 3. Holy Week begins with the celebration of Jesus final entry into Jerusalem where he will undergo suffering, death, be buried, and then be raised from the dead. 4. The passion story clearly shows us the last events of Jesus life and the price he paid for our sins. He was betrayed by Judas, denied by Peter and abandoned by all. 5. This final week of Lent offers us an opportunity to bring our hearts and minds into harmony with Christ. Make a special effort to attend all liturgical celebrations, especially The Triduum - Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday (Easter Vigil), which dramatizes the last agonizing moments of Jesus life. Listen to the Passion Story in a spirit of prayer. Each of us had a hand in Christ s death. 6. The Road to eternal life will not bypass the Hill of Calvary. Easter cannot be celebrated without Good Friday. The truth is God loves us all with a love that cost him death on the Cross. Continue to walk with Jesus Christ.pray for one another. 5 St. Felicitas Parish Spanish-Speaking Community CONTRASTES Los últimos días de Jesús son una experiencia de contrastes. El hombre que Isaías describe es valiente enfrentando las cachetadas y los golpes. Jesús no será deshonrado ni avergonzado. Todo lo que los sacerdotes, ancianos, soldados y amigos hacen, tiene la intención de deshonrar y avergonzar a Jesús. Pero ellos fallan. Jesús no está sin angustia o tristeza. Él conoce lo que es sentirse abandonado, así como lo manifestó en el jardín de los olivos y en la Cruz. Aun así, la carta a los filipenses insiste en que Jesús será exaltado, aunque humillado y obediente hasta la muerte. Marcos lleva tanto a Jesús como a nosotros de un lugar a otro, entre la fuerza y el temor, entre el valor y la humillación, entre la obediencia y la angustia. Qué es lo que vamos a hacer de estos contrastes? RECONOCMIENTO Solo un centurión, quien con las mujeres observando desde lejos, notan el último aliento de Jesús, y sabe lo que debe hacerse. Debemos entender, aún antes de la Resurrección, que "este hombre era el Hijo de Dios". Cómo lo supo el centurión? El centurión lo supo porque estaba parado viendo de frente a Jesús, observándolo, mirando hacia su cara en el momento de su muerte. Aunque se hizo todo para despojar a Jesús de su sentido de ser; nunca, nunca renunció a su total compromiso con Dios su Padre. Aún en su angustia y abandono, él clama a Dios. Nos quedamos imaginando cómo le respondió su Padre, pero aquello que Jesús escuchara en sus últimos momentos, dejo en su rostro y en su último aliento muy claro un signo del amor de Dios que uno de sus verdugos reconoce quién era. Lo único que le queda a Jesús cuando muere es la certeza permanente del amor de su Padre. Esa es una certeza que Jesús se llevó a su tumba y a su resurrección. Esta Semana nos une al misterio pascual Jesús. Celebrando estos ritos antiguos y variados por todo el mundo. Durante esta semana, el tiempo y el espacio se cancelan para unirnos a los misterios que celebramos, a nuestras familias, a los cristianos por todo el mudo y a través de los siglos. Thứ Sáu Tuần Thánh, Hội Thánh tưởng niệm cuộc thương khó và tử nạn của Chúa Giêsu trên thánh giá để Cứu chuộc nhân loại bằng việc cử hành cuộc thương khó của Chúa Giêsu và suy tôn Thánh giá. 9. Khi chiêm ngắm Chúa Giêsu chết trên Thánh giá, chúng ta phải có thái độ nào? - Suy tôn - Cảm mến - Tri ân - Ngưỡng mộ. 10. Thứ Bảy Tuần Thánh, Hội Thánh muốn chúng ta làm gì? Trong ngày thứ Bảy Tuần Thánh, Hội Thánh mời gọi các Kitô hữu cùng với Mẹ Maria cầu nguyện bên mồ Chúa, cùng Ngài suy ngắm những đau khổ, sự chết và mai tang của Chúa Giêsu trong niềm hy vọng và tin tưởng, để chuẩn bị tâm hồn bước vào Đêm Canh Thức Phục Sinh. Trong Tuần Thánh, Giáo Hội cử hành những mầu nhiệm cứu độ mà Chúa Kitô đã hoàn tất vào những ngày cuối cùng của Ngài ở trần gian, từ lúc Người vào thành Giêrusalem với tư cách là Đấng Cứu Thế đến cuộc Thương Khó hồng phúc và Phục Sinh vinh quang của Ngài. Tam Nhật Vượt Qua bắt đầu Thánh Lễ ban chiều tưởng niệm bữa Tiệc Ly của Chúa, được tiếp diễn trong ngày thứ Sáu Chúa Chịu Thương Khó và ngày thứ Bảy Tuần Thánh, rồi kết thúc vào kinh chiều Chúa Nhật Phục Sinh. Trung tâm điểm của Tam Nhật Vượt Qua là Đêm Canh Thức Phục Sinh. Giáo xứ sẽ có Hòa Giải Mùa Chay lúc 7:00pm Thứ Ba ngày 27 tháng 3 năm 2018 tại Nhà thờ. Kính mời quý ông bà và anh chị em đến lãnh nhận Bí Tích Hòa Giải trong để sửa soạn tâm hồn cử hành Mầu Nhiệm Tam Nhật Thánh và đón mừng đại Lễ Chúa Kitô Phục Sinh.
