2 From the Desk of Fr. Kevin Today we celebrate the beautiful feast of Corpus Christi, the Body and Blood of Christ in the Most Holy Eucharist. The feast of Corpus Christi celebrates the fact that we are the Body of Christ. The gift that we receive, the sacrament that we celebrate in the Mass transforms us from a crowd of people into a family of faith...from separate individuals into the sisters and brothers of Christ...from a wandering mass of people into the people of God.from an aimless group into a journeying people of faith. Together, we can all do our part in carrying out the task of sharing the Good News. Jesus Christ is here we are here the Body of Christ receives the Body of Christ, to become the Body of Christ Nourished by His Body and Blood we become transformed, renewed, and strengthened in our mission, sharing His love with our brothers and sisters. Congratulations and best wishes to all our graduates! May God continue to bless you on your journey of faith! 3 Finance and Administration For our budget, our parish needs a weekly average of $3, If you are away for a weekend or cannot attend Mass, please remember your weekly offering as it does help us maintain our parish budget. Due to early publication the offertory for May will be posted in the June 10th Bulletin. Thank you for your regular and faithful support! Our Second Collection next weekend - June 10th will be for our SKT Parish Fuel Collection - I recently signed our fuel contract for next year at $2.56 per gallon for the 2019 season. We burn approx. 10,500 gallons, so our parish fuel expenses will be $28, for the 2019 season. Any assistance for fuel is greatly appreciated. Thanks! 4 Knights of Columbus - Council 149 Bingo! Monday Nights at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Doors open at 4:30pm. Games 6:30pm, need Knights to Volunteer! Monday nights - June 4,11,18,25 We invite all Catholic Men to join our St. Croix Knights of Columbus Council #149, see Father Kevin, or any other Knight! IMPORTANT: All third Degree Knights are being given a Special Offer to attain The Highest Degree, "The 4th Degree" in a Special Ceremony to be held here in Calais! All 3rd Degree Members will receive info in the mail. Please turn in your answer to us as soon as possible. We can't pass this up, it is an Honor and a Privilege, to be the only ones in Maine to be given this special offer. We will need a head count to give to the State Office before they pick a date. Congratulations to Rod Boula for taking his 4th Degree in Van Buren on May 19th, with other Knights from around the State. June 3rd: Business Meeting: 4th Degree Meets at 6:00 PM and the Council meets right after at 6:30ish. Important Meeting with Election of Officers for the new Year.Sandwiches: George McLaughlin Sweets: Patrick Coleman June 8th: Special Olympics Opening Parade in Orono. Any 4th Degree Knight, who wishes to participate, must show up at the Collins Center Parking lot at 4:30 and be in full dress regalia, or new uniform. We will form up at 5:00 PM, and the parade will start at 5:30 PM. June 13th: Celtic Concert, featuring Matthew Byrnes, from Newfoundland, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, at 7:00 PM. Matthew is the lead singer of the award winning group The Dardanelles, and is on tour promoting his solo award winning new Cd. Tickets are $20.00 adult, $5.00 for 15yrs and under. He has an amazing voice! If you like concerts with singers, he's one of the best in Atlantic Canada! Children Sharing the Gospel Ever since the night Moses led the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt, God's people remembered that special night with the Passover meal. They ate flat bread, just as the Israelites did the night they left Egypt. They drank wine, remembering the lamb's blood that saved the Israelites from the Angel of Death. Jesus ate the Passover meal with his disciples. As they ate, Jesus taught his disciples that, under God's new agreement, his own body and blood would save them. Prayer - Dear God, help me to be truly thankful for the way Jesus gave up his own body and blood to save me from my sins. Amen. Something to Draw - Draw a picture of Jesus serving wine and flat bread to his disciples. (Flat bread looks a little bit like pita bread.) Mission for the Week - Using the concordance found at the back of your Bible, look up the word "Passover." As a family, write down the verses, find them in your Bible, and read them out loud. Sometimes Jesus is referred to as the Lamb of God, or the Lamb sacrificed for our sins. Talk about how Jesus took our sins away when he died on the cross.

5 St. Kateri Parish Goal for $39, Parishioners of St. Kateri Parish have a long history of showing their commitment to the Diocese of Portland by supporting the Catholic Appeal. Many thanks to all parish families who have made a pledge to the 2018 Catholic Appeal. If you have not done so, please consider helping is meet our goal and return your pledge envelope to the parish office as soon as possible. The Appeal funds the agencies and ministries that support thousands of our brothers and sisters in need across the state of Maine. For our area, many benefit directly from our generosity, especially as a parish and through those vital ministries that support our local people. We hope that you will respond generously. The strength of the family lies in its capacity to love and to teach how to love. - Pope Francis Prayer for the Success of the 2018 Catholic Appeal Lord Jesus Christ, Your goodness is without measure. The gifts you bestow on me are countless. You continuously pour out your grace on me and those in my life. I am forever grateful. Strengthen your family of faith, Lord, so each person we encounter may feel your love through our actions. In all that we do, conform us always to your holy will. Through the intercession and example of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph, help us always to be as loving to others as they were to you. I make this prayer in your Holy Name. Amen.
