They shall be like trees planted beside flowing rivers. They delight in the law of the lord, and on God s law they meditate all day long. They shall yield good fruit in its season, and their leaves shall never wither. HYMN #744 Arise, Your Light Is Come! Festal Song CALL TO RECONCILIATION UNISON PRAYER OF BROKENNESS Holy God, we are anxious for your love and for your affirmation of our lives. We are honored that you find us worthy to be the Body of Christ in the world. But sometimes we don t appreciate your calling. Sometimes your calling is a hassle. Sometimes it is outside our comfort zone. When your hopes for us are difficult or no fun, we aren t so eager to follow. Forgive us for our fickleness, O God. Renew our commitment to you. Open our ears to your plans for us and our hearts for living out those plans that we might be more faithful to you and ourselves. We pray that other youth of the world are also becoming adults with a strong desire to work for peace and justice so that the strife of today might be diminished if not possibly erased. We thank you for the opportunity we have to serve our neighbors: those who are working toward a life of independence in our shelter, Journey, and those we serve on Sunday who are beginning to become a community.
