Give thanks to the Lord, for God is good. God s steadfast love endures forever! The Lord is our strength and our might. The Lord is our salvation! The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is God s handiwork, and it is marvelous in our eyes! This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it! And yet, we still live as if in chains. Forgive us, O God, when we are hesitant to live as resurrection people. Forgive us, when we are stingy with our own grace, in light of your immense grace. Forgive us when our words and actions fail to show how you loved us into your eternity through the mysteries of the cross. Each week during the Thursday night Crossover service, participants have written a promise, prayer, or reflection on strips of fabric corresponding to our ipromise Lent series about Old Testament Covenants. This week, the tree takes on new life as the purples and grays of Lent begin to show new life and flecks of white, marking the resurrection.

The evidence is all around us if we will use our senses to experience the miracle of new life. In streams and all bodies of water, we see tadpoles and tiny, newly hatched fish. Birdsong fills the air and we look up to see newly built nests, soon to hold eggs which will produce baby birds. Pastures are filling with calves and lambs. At the top of the tall Tulip Poplar trees are lovely flowers, soon to become seeds for future trees. As we experience the glory of the awakening Earth, we thank you, dear God, for providing everything we could ever need. We thank you, loving Mother for our human family, which comes in so many different forms. We thank you especially for siblings, whether biological or not, with whom we share the experience of learning how to navigate this life we share. For this we are most grateful. Let us never forget or take for granted these special relationships. Please bless all who are suffering the loss of a loved one. Help us love and support them in their time of grief. We pray these things in the name of your son, Jesus. Amen.

SPRING CLEAN-UP DAY Saturday, April 25 9AM Please join us on Saturday, April 25 for our annual Spring Clean Up Day, hosted by the Property & Administration Team. We will work on cleaning out rooms to allow for more usable space, sprucing up the flower beds, and a variety of other projects. Lunch will be provided. More details on projects and things to bring will be posted soon!

8 INTOWN FOOD PANTRY NEEDS Over the next few weeks the Food Pantry will be reassessing their food needs and the needs of their guests. Saturday, March 28, they served 89 households with over 1200 lbs. of food, much of which had been donated. You had generously contributed easy open cans of meat, Mac & Cheese bowls, tea, coffee, and sandwich bags. The Pantry is always in need of instant coffee, tea, pop-top cans of meat, cold cereals, plus shelf-stable and dry milk. Your frequent donations make a difference. Please Note : Egg cartons are no longer needed by the Intown Food Cooperative or the Child Development Center. Your previous donations were greatly appreciated! BOOK DRIVE TO SUPPORT AGAPE LEARNING CENTER Through Sunday, April 19 Danielle Stewart, a DHPC youth, is coordinating a book drive to benefit Agape Learning Center, which has several programs benefiting underserved children in the Atlanta area, including but not limited to academic based after school programs to help elementary, middle and high school students. Please place gently used books for children, young readers, and young adults in the bin outside the historical room. REGISTER NOW FOR MONTREAT YOUTH CONFERENCES 5-8 grade youth will attend the Montreat Middle School Conference, at Maryville College, on July grade youth will attend the Montreat Youth Conference, at Montreat Conference Center, on July Adult advisors are needed to attend this faith-changing event. On April 12, 19, and 26, new member classes will be held to share the history and life of DHPC, talk about Presbyterianism, and share in conversation about what it means to belong to this family of faith.
