Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." (Mark 10:42-45) As we go forward in our discernment process as a congregation, what does Jesus mean about our need to be servants (or slaves) to all? And how does it fit into our thinking as a community of faith? Some quotes to Ponder: Do not think that love, in order to be genuine, has to be extraordinary. It was determined that the Chair of the Outreach Board, Robert Glissmann, and the other members of the Outreach Board were the appropriate people to oversee the content of the Website and to take whatever steps they deem necessary to improve its look and its content. Therefore, if members of PHLC wish to submit new information for placement on the website, or if members wish to communicate

2 suggestions about how the look and content of the website could be improved, please make those submissions and suggestions to Bob. REMINDER: Congregational Forums will meet on Sunday, March 22, at 9:15am in Acker Hall and March 24, at 7pm in the narthex of the sanctuary. THE SEASON OF LENT The Season of Lent continues on Wednesday, March 25, with services at 2pm and 7:30pm. The Care Ministry Committee will be hosting a coffee and cookies fellowship time following the 2pm Wednesday Lenten Services. We look forward to seeing you! We are asking the congregation for donations of food (fruit, sausage, milk and juice). We are also asking for help with breakfast Easter morning. This would include set-up, food prep, serving, and clean-up. There are two signup sheets on the bulletin board in the hallway by the library. 3 Women's Ministry activities will be held on the 2nd Saturday of the month at 9am at the church. Women of all ages are invited to attend for Bible study, fellowship, and activities. THANK -YOU to the women who attended last Saturday's Spring Fling clean-up of the church. The Saturday, April 11, 9am meeting will include Bible study and further planning of yearly activities. FOUNDATION NEWS: SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE-2015! PACIFIC HILLS LUTHERAN CHURCH FOUNDATION has several scholarship opportunities available. Members of Pacific Hills are given first preference over all other applicants. The following scholarships are funded by The Foundation if meeting the proper requirements as stated on the application: 1. Lamb Of God Pre-School 2. Any Lutheran School in the Omaha area: Kindergarten through Concordia High School 3. Pastor Harre is teaching a Bible study on the Gospel of St. John at about 9:20am in Acker Hall. He invites everyone to attend the sessions and to participate in the discussion of this unique Gospel account of the life and ministry of Jesus. During the meeting of the Board of Directors held on Tuesday, January 20, it was decided to offer the opportunity to members of Pacific Hills to serve as volunteers to sit in the church office 8am to10am or 10am to noon Sunday mornings to answer questions, answer the telephone, etc. Therefore, a signup sheet has been posted on the exterior of the window of the office to enable volunteers to indicate their willingness to serve in this manner. Lincoln in Papillion. The event is March 22, 11:30am to 2:30pm. Price for adults is $12, children 5 to 12 is $5; and children under 5 are free. Menu includes brats, sauerkraut, pulled pork, mashed potatoes, gravy, German potato salad, green beans, salad, and dessert. A silent auction is scheduled from noon until end of this event. 4 Douglas County Good News Jail & Prison Ministry 2015 Spring Banquet will be held at 6:30pm on Tuesday, April 14, at the Ramada Plaza Convention Center, 72 nd & Grover Streets. In April, the University A Capella Choir, under the direction of Dr. Kurt von Kampen will embark on a spring tour of the Midwest United States. The 72-voice concert choir will be performing sacred and secular choral works from a variety of different historical eras and cultures. This tour marks the 76 th anniversary of the internationally acclaimed concert choir, one of the oldest Lutheran collegiate choirs in the country.
