1 Fifth Sunday after Epiphany Communion and Family Sunday February 4, :00 A.M. White Prelude I Want Jesus to Walk with Me Setting by David Maxwell (You are invited to a time of quiet preparation for worship during the Prelude.) Ringing of the Bell Welcome and Informal Moments Choral Introit *Call to Worship L: In God, we find rest. P: We lean on Jesus, to experience peace amidst the chaos of life. L: In God, we find hope. P: We lean on Jesus, who proclaims love, to fill us with courage. L: In God, we find strength. P: Forever we lean on Jesus, our refuge and our might. Come, let us worship. *Opening Hymn How Firm a Foundation (vs. 1,3,5) No. 237 Unison Prayer of Confession and Lord s Prayer Holy God, in the stillness of these moments, we turn to you in prayer. Move within us and cast out all that holds us back from fully embracing you. Forgive us our shortcomings, and lead us from this time into a life that seeks to glorify you. Refresh our spirits and renew our hearts, as we seek to serve you faithfully. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who taught us to pray saying, Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and glory, forever. Amen.

2 Words of Assurance Anthem The Gift of Love Hopson Scripture Mark 1:29-39 John Ross, reader Time for Children (The children will remain with their families during worship.) *Hymn What a Friend We Have in Jesus No. 442 Joys and Concerns Pastoral Prayer and Silent Prayer Choral Prayer Response Invitation to Offering Invitation Offertory Jesu, Joy of Man s Desiring J.S. May they sustain and grow the ministries of your church, as we follow you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
