3 Save the Dates: Family Fun Day at the Shrine Come enjoy a day of family fun at the Shrine on Sunday, August 31 st. The day will begin with Mass at 1:30 pm, followed by The Amazing Race Shrine Style for the kids. Please bring a picnic for your family. We will have access to the Lodge in case it s raining. Adult volunteers (must have completed the Diocesan Child Protection Program and Screening) are needed to help with The Amazing Race. Personal Care kits are made up and usually picked up by clients with their food boxes. PC kits are also made for the Transitional Backpacks and we are working with the Alternative High School to be able to provide PC kits and blankets to youth in need. Your continued donations of hotel size shampoo and toiletries are greatly appreciated and will be put to good use! Toilet paper, Adult size toothbrushes, Q-tips, family size toothpaste & shampoo are helpful for the larger families. Thanks to Chrisanna and her kids for their dedication to this ministry. Participate in St. Vincent de Paul Juneau Diocesan Council Fundraiser Friends of the Poor Walk September 6, 2014 St. Paul the Apostle Church Registration 9am Walk 10am One way to follow the directive of Jesus Christ to care for the less fortunate among us would be to support St. Vincent de Paul s services to the poor of our community. Those services include a homeless shelter, affordable housing units, rental assistance, food, clothing, travel and medical aid vouchers, a Thrift Store for gently used items, and holiday baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Mark your calendar to participate in the Walk and donate to support the work of St. Vincent de Paul Juneau Diocesan Council.
