9 WE INTRODUCE Dr Robert and Konanani Makungo GK Trans-Letaba Dr NR Makungo is a minister of the Word of God in the Reformed Church Trans-Letaba (constituted by 6 wards) i.e. Mashau, Tshivhade, Thondoni, Lupedze, Chavani and Makhethakhetha. Trans-Letaba is in Limpopo Province under Vhembe District Municipality (18 May 2008 to date). His first congregation was Phalabora Reformed Church where he served as a missionary from He holds masters and PhD degrees in the field of practical theology. He obtained all his degrees at the North-West University formerly known as Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education (Pu for CHE). Topic for his Masters: Strategic guidelines for alleviating poverty in part of the Reformed Churches of Synod Midlands: A pastoral study; and the topic for his PhD: Churches and NGOs in partnership with government against corruption: a Pastoral study in the South African context. He is married to Konanani Elsie Makungo who holds Honours degree in Public Administration and she is a government employee under Department of Cooperative Governance Human Settlement and Traditional Affairs (COGHSTA). He is blessed with a son (Ovhonala (12) and two daughters Vhugalahawe (10) and Mufhatutshedzi (4). He stays with his brother Elekanyani Makungo who completed his studies in He conducts services in all six wards following the preaching plan and services are also conducted by ordained elders. During school holidays youth, Sunday School conferences are held at local levels and also held with the neighbouring churches like CFC Makwarela, De Hoop, Middle-Letaba, Musina Nancefield, Songozwi, and Malamulele. The church raise many youth who after passing Grade 12 most of them further their studies in other tertiary institutions outside the Limpopo Province. Most of them get employed in other provinces and they become members of other Reformed Churches. We are glad that some of them are being looked after in the Reformed tradition. Dr NR Makungo is a motivational speaker who encourages grade 12 learners from the local high schools. He also motivates primary learners during farewell functions and grade R and Pre-School graduations. He distributes Christian literatures to Sunday School children and he is also involved in Bible distribution to Grade 7 learners who falls under Vhuronga 2 Circuit. 9
