Our calling is realized in a spirit of love, unity and hospitality. As a faith community we will deepen our knowledge and love of God in Christ. 2 Our Lady of Fatima New London In the synoptic Gospels, Andrew is a Galilean fisherman grouped with his brother, Peter, and with James and John in the inner circle of Apostles; in John's Gospel, he is the disciple of John the Baptist who is the first to follow Jesus and who brings his brother to the Lord. Many traditions about Andrew come from the apocryphal second-century Acts of Andrew, which depicts him as a zealous missionary in the Black Sea region who is crucified tied to an x-shaped cross by the Roman governor. Some early church historians also said he evangelized in Greece and Asia Minor. In church and in government, at work and at home, we need people of wisdom and vision to take us into the future. Leaders must lead, not merely from a platform or agenda, but with a profound respect for the common good as an unshakable principle. Championing the common good makes families more holy, workplaces more just, societies more civil, and governments more noble. What kind of world do we want to live in? At what kind of authority will be bend our knees? PARISH CHRISTMAS DINNER Sponsored by the Men s Club, this year s dinner will be held at the LSCC on Tuesday, December 11. A cash bar opens at 5:30PM and dinner will be served beginning at 6:30PM. The menu includes soup or salad, choice of entrée, dessert and coffee. A cheese and cracker selection will be provided during the cocktail hour. The cost is $38 p/p including tax and gratuity. John Lovejoy, a local musician, will lead us in caroling following dinner. Tickets available at all weekend masses and at the Rectory during regular business hours. This year we will be accepting reservation for tables of eight in addition to the regular open seating we have had in the past. The final date for ticket sales is Sunday, December 2.
