2 Page 2 Welcome to the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Winona, Minnesota FAITH SHARING QUESTION Theme: "It is I." Question for Adults: When have you had an "Aha" moment, when you suddenly realized that God was with you? Question for Children: Name some times when you know Jesus is with you. ANGELS EVERYWHERE Remember to shop the Angels Everywhere Store for all of the gift-giving occasions coming up in spring and summer. We have a great selection of rosaries, bibles, medals, crucifixes, and other items appropriate for first communion, confirmation, graduations, weddings, and anniversaries. The store, temporarily located in Holy Family Hall, is open on weekends before and after Masses. To shop the store during the week, just stop in the parish office. Cathedral children s stewardship envelopes are now available for pick up in the store. 6TH ANNUAL WACS GOLF OUTING June 5,2006-Bridges Golf Club-12:00 p.m. This is a fundraiser for our schools to help us be less dependent on Parish support and maintain the educational programs in our schools. Please consider organizing a foursome or sponsoring a golfer. Family or individual hole sponsorship is also available. For more information or to register please contact the WACS Business Office at This event includes 18 holes of golf, cart, meal, program and prizes. First Friday Communion Calls will be this week on Wednesday and Friday. A MESSAGE FROM FATHER SAUER No Priest or Deacon birthdays this week. Please pray for an increase of vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and religious life for the Diocese of Winona. Congratulations to Tim Pozanc and Gretchen Gatzke who were married on April 22 and to Kevin and Jennifer Mulyck who had their marriage validated by the Church on April 29. May the Lord bless their life together. This Sunday is the last in our Sunday evening Masses. I will be presiding and offering a special blessing for the graduating seniors. This is also a great opportunity for me to wish our college age friends blessings for the summer. It is wonderful to have so many young adults join our community for worship on the weekends. It adds a great flavor to Mass. Visitors often comment on how young our parish is! And, indeed, we are - both young in age and young in spirit. Best wishes to those who are graduating or will not be returning and we look forward to seeing the others on their return in the fall. Next Sunday our young people will be receiving First Holy Communion. Due to the limits of space in Holy Family Hall we are scheduling a special Mass at 8:30 so that we do not have to limit the number of family members who can attend. Please pray for these young people so that the Lord will always be an important part of their life and so that the blessings of the sacrament will bring them peace and joy. This past week, our interview committee met with three candidates for our Pastoral Associate of Faith Formation and Community life position. We have had strong candidates and are in the process of doing reference and background checks as we make our final decision. I hope to have more news for you next week. Planning Update: Recently Cotter announced to it s families and staff that the junior high program will move to the St. Teresa campus next fall. We congratulate Cotter on this transition. Please know that no changes will occur in WACS facilities for the school year. We continue to work through the Planning Assessment Committee to develop a sound, long-range facilities plan for WACS. The complete plan, entitled A Future of Faith and Learning: Planning for Catholic Education in Winona was published in February and is available on the WACS website ST. CASIMIR ANNUAL CHICKEN-Q St. Casimir Parish will hold their annual Chicken-Q fundraiser on Sunday, May 7th. Proceeds are used for their school of religion.
