The Archbishop has invited everyone to attend this Mass. The Parish Office will also be closed on Good Friday. East Hartford PASTORAL REFLECTIONS The stage is set. The drama begins to unfold! The greatest love story in the history of the world will be relived in these coming days. It is the love story of a God who refused to abandon His children to sin and death, the God who just would not let go! This is the story of the Week that is called Holy! It begins with the donkey pageantry of Palm Sunday, and it winds through a week of fire and passion. We see the loud hosannas of a Palm Sunday give way to the cry: Crucify Him! Crucify Him! on that dark Friday that we call Good. It will culminate at the empty tomb on Easter Sunday when angels will inquire: Why do you seek the living among the dead? It is indeed a week of fire and passion. Will it be just another week that is called Holy or will it be for us, individually and collectively as a parish, a HOLY WEEK? The answer is up to us! We invite and encourage everyone to take advantage of this powerful week of prayer and healing by joining in the liturgical services of the Triduum: celebrated in English at St. Mary s Church and in Spanish at St. Rose Church. Opportunities to celebrate the Sacrament of Penance are plentiful this week: Monday, March 26th, 6:00 7:00pm at all our churches; Tuesday, March 27th, after the 8:30am Mass and before the 7pm Spanish Mass; Saturday, March 31st, 10am 12pm at St. Mary s Church. Join with us and make this week that is called holy a Holy Week HOLY THURSDAY: On the night before He died for us Jesus gave us a final example of His love for us. He instituted the great gift of the Eucharist. In this gift He would continue His presence among us until the end of time. He gave His disciples the gift of priesthood and the example of service in the washing of the feet powerful realities! The MASS OF THE LORD S SUPPER will be celebrated at 7:00pm (both at St. Mary s in English and St. Rose in Spanish) followed by a procession of the Blessed Sacrament and adoration at the altar of repose. (Following liturgical norms, the Blessed Sacrament will be vacated from the Adoration Chapel at St. Mary s at 9:00am on Holy Thursday and will be returned on Easter Sunday morning.) GOOD FRIDAY: The day Christ died for you and for me the day the angels were silent! The Solemn Commemoration of the Lord s Passion and Death will take place at 3:00pm in English at St. Mary s, and 3:00pm in Spanish at St. Rose. Stations of the Cross will be prayed Good Friday Night at 7:00pm at St. Mary s Church. HOLY SATURDAY: The day of the long wait! Blessing of Easter foods will take place at 12:00 noon at St. Mary s Church. The great Easter Vigil will begin at 8:00 pm (both in English at St. Mary s and in Spanish at St. Rose). This is the holiest night of the year the night when Christ triumphed over the powers of death and darkness it is our night! Join in the joyful celebration when bells will ring and candles will glow. (We invite you to bring a small hand bell to this celebration to join in the festive Gloria.) Even though this article was written by Fr. Rohan, the drama and centrality of this week is at the center and heart of our Faith. The question to ask ourselves is: Will it just be another week that is called holy, or will it be a Holy Week? Only you can decide! Website: namct.org info@namct.org

Un abrazo, P. Gustavo Lopez Website: namct.org SAINT JOSEPH MEDAL The North American Martyrs Parish congratulates our St. Joseph Medal recipient Sandra Gingras. STATIONS OF THE CROSS THIS WEEK 3/30 7:00pm Good Friday, St. Mary s Church DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY On this day everyone has the opportunity to avail themselves of the promise which Jesus made to completely cleanse the soul of all sin and to cancel all punishment which that soul had incurred as a result of sin. We go to the Feast of Mercy as beggars and receive the ultimate pardon from the King of Mercy. He also offers us the opportunity to bring our petitions to Him on this special holy day. Jesus told St. Faustina that on the Feast of Mercy, "all the divine floodgates through which grace flow are opened." (Diary 699) The Feast of Divine Mercy is a window through which we can see into the soul of God and understand His merciful spirit. On the Feast of Mercy we can go to His house and He will pardon us completely and grant us many graces. Jesus greatly desires to forgive us and heal us of the wounds of sin so that we may dwell in the shelter of His Divine Mercy. This year, it will be observed on Sunday, April 8th, at 2:30 pm at St. Mary s Church. There will be a procession and Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament, talk on Divine Mercy, Chaplet of Mercy and Veneration of the first class relic of Saint Faustina. Please make every effort to attend and do not squander the blessings which God wishes to make available to us. The Divine Mercy Novena begins on Good Friday and ends on the first Sunday after Easter, April 8th. Pamphlets for the Novena are in the Parish churches this weekend.
