Usually when cutting items out, it is best to leave a narrow white margin all around. Prepare with flannel, magnets, or Velcro for use with flannel board, magnet board, or velcro board. In most cases, simple supplies are all you will need: scissors, pencils, crayons, markers, paste, and fasteners such as tape, stapler, brads, string, or yarn. To make an enlargement, use an opaque projector. If you don't have ready access to one, ask at a local school. Often it is possible to borrow an item or use it on the premises. Use a darkened room and back up to make the image larger, get closer to make smaller. Focus with the lens to sharpen the image. Project the image onto a large piece of paper such as poster board and trace the image. Go over the lines later with markers or other media. You may have to use a ruler and/or T-square to get the lines straight. The best images to enlarge have sharp, clean, dark lines and shapes.
