1 SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH REFORM MOVEMENT International Missionary Society Volume 22, No. 8 August 2006 Laid to Rest Maria (Netty) Antoinette Hazelhoff O ur dear sister passed away on July 31, 2006, at the Amelia Nursing Center, near Richmond, Virginia. She was 87. Netty was born on May 16, 1919, in The Netherlands to Wilhelmine and Frederick Narewski. Netty was only a toddler when her parents heard the message of truth and joined the Seventh-day Adventist Church Reform Movement. Later, as a teen, she also accepted the call of our Lord, was baptized, and joined this church. Netty never had any children, but she greatly enjoyed her many nieces and nephews and their families. At the age of 52, Netty began a new chapter in her life when she wed Jan Hazelhoff, the widower of her sister. With this union, Netty became a loving matriarch to Jan s children and grandchildren. Netty and Jan enjoyed 23 happy years of marriage until Jan passed away in Members of the Richmond Church visited her often during her stay in the nursing home. She was also visited frequently by her niece Wilhelmina with her family, and her nephew Lambert s wife, Louise, with her family. During Netty s final hours, Angella Russell (from the Richmond, VA, church) and Louise Hazelhoff made Netty more comfortable by giving her final bath and clean bedding. Clyve Russell spoke comfortingly to her, reminding her that mansions are awaiting all of us on Heaven s golden shores. Netty herself prayed, but, her prayer was, oh, so weak and faint. Netty was a friend to all she met and shared the love of Jesus by her kind actions and is fondly remembered for her cheerful Christian attitude. She is missed by church members, family, and friends. Netty rests now in the hope of the soon coming of Jesus Christ, her Savior. Another Is Added O n Sabbath evening, May 20, 2006, Br. Virgilio Aviles was baptized in the warm waters of Tampa Bay in the presence of the Christ Our Righteousness congregation of Tampa, Florida. Immediately thereafter, he was extended the hand of fellowship into the International Missionary Society of the Seventhday Adventist Church Reform Movement. Pastor Idel Suárez, Jr., officiated at the service and read Br. Virgilio a verse to accompany him on his Christian walk. And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious [ honorable in Spanish] throne to his father s house. Isaiah 22:23. It is God s desire that each of us will be fastened on the sure foundation of Jesus Christ and be an honor for our Heavenly Father s house. Our Father s house is the organized church, or congregation of saints, on earth. It is here that we are to edify one another as lively stones built upon the Rock of Ages. Please welcome Br. 3 Prayer Closet Update Steve Jennings "In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me." Psalm 86:7. Thank you for all your prayers for Steve. He has come home from the hospital and has been able to stand up and walk a little with a walker, assisted by his therapist. He continues to have much pain and other health problems that have not yet been resolved. The improvements are slow, and there are many setbacks. However, with God s help, progress is being made. Please continue to keep Steve, Mila, and their children in your prayers. They also continue to need your encouragement to help brighten the darker days. 4 Conference CD s Now Available The recent Western Field Conference (August 23 27, 2006) was a great blessing! The Conference motto was Let the Children Come unto Me.
