2 Cowboy Church / Pancake Feed / Family Trail Ride April 24, 2016 Max, NE The annual Christian Cowboy Ministry Benefit Event will be held on Sunday, April 24th at the Max United Methodist Church in Max, NE. The event begins with a cowboy church service featuring the poetry, humor and praise of Fred G. Ellis, followed by a pancake and sausage feed (free will offering for Christian Cowboy Ministries) at the Max Community Center. The event will conclude with a trail ride leaving from the Max United Methodist Church at 12:30 pm (trailer parking available at the church). All are welcome! 9:30 am (MDT): Join us for Cowboy Church at the Max United Methodist Church, featuring the Ministry and Christian Cowboy Poetry of Fred G. Ellis, Founder of Christian Cowboy Ministries of Penrose, Colorado. Directions: Take U.S. Highway 34 to Max. NE. Turn North on 3rd Street. The church is two blocks up on the left side of the road. 10:30 am (MDT): Join us for pancakes and sausage at the Max Community Center. Free will offering, all proceeds benefit Christian Cowboy Ministries. Directions: Take U.S. Highway 34 to Max. NE. Turn North on 4th Street. The Community Center is on the left side of the road. 12:30 pm (MDT): Join us for a family trail ride North of Max, NE. Trail ride will leave from the Max United Methodist Church. 4 THE CHAPLAIN S CORNER I m writing this during the week before Easter. The week that our God, who had become a man, allowed himself to be crucified on a crude wooden cross. On the third day he arose from his grave. He did it that we might be freed from the sins of our own making. The two greatest events that have ever happened are No. 1; The creation of the world by God, that was finished with the creation of man and woman who were given free wills, and No 2: The death and resurrection of God so men and women could be free from sin because they wrongly used that free will. No it isn t a typo. God, the deity of the universe, was willing to go through terrible suffering and death so we could have eternal life. But with that free will that he gave us, we have to choose to accept him as our savior. The great King of Israel, David, tells us in Psalms 37:3-4 Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. When you surrender yourself to the Lord your desires will begin to line up with His. If you don t surrender, your desires will be sexual immorality, idolatry, hatred, discord, gossip, jealousy, rage, selfish ambition, envy, drunkenness and so on.
