1 1 Kings 5:1-18 Everything To Build With 1 Now Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon, because he heard that they had anointed him king in place of his father, for Hiram had always loved David. Hiram built David a house/palace in Jerusalem. 1 Kings

2 2 Samuel 5:11 Then Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters and masons. And they built David a house. 2 Then Solomon sent to Hiram, saying: 3 You know how my father David could not build a house for the name of the LORD his God because of the wars which were fought against him on every side, until the LORD put his foes under the soles of his feet. 4 But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side; there is neither adversary nor evil occurrence. 5 And behold, I propose to build a house for the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spoke to my father David, saying, Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your place, he shall build the house for My name. 1 Chronicles 28: All this, said David, the LORD made me understand in writing, by His hand upon me, all the works of these plans. 20 And David said to his son Solomon, Be strong and of good courage, and do it; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD God my God will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD. 2 Chronicles 2:6 (Solomon:) But who is able to build Him a temple, since heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain Him? Who am I then, that I should build Him a temple, except to burn sacrifice before Him? Bloodied Hands disqualified David: 1 Chronicles 22:7 8 7 And David said to Solomon: My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build a house to the name of the LORD my God; 8 but the word of the LORD came to me, saying, You have shed much blood and have made great wars; you shall not build a house for My name, because you have shed much blood on the earth in My sight. What disqualifies us? Proverbs 6: These six things the LORD hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: 17 (1)A proud look, (2)A lying tongue, (3)Hands that shed innocent blood, 18 (4)A heart that devises wicked plans, (5)Feet that are swift in running to evil, 19 (6)A false witness who speaks lies, (7)And one who sows discord among brethren. Some could not be re-qualified: o Adam & Eve to return to Eden o Cain to remain near his parents o Ishmael to receive his birthright

3 o Esau to receive his birthright o Saul to remain the King of Israel o David to build the House of God o Ananias & Sapphira (Acts 5) to remain alive How to get Re-Qualified: 1. Be honest with others about why you disqualified yourself from Ministry 2. Stop doing the things that disqualify you! a. Prov. 6:16-19 b. Galatians 5:19-21 Galatians 5: Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. c. Log in the Eye thing Matthew 7:3 4 3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, Let me remove the speck from your eye ; and look, a plank is in your own eye? d. Seek forgiveness; pay back what is owed; live peaceably Luke 11:4 And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. Romans 12:18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. e. Crucify the flesh DAILY Galatians 5: 24 And those who are Christ s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 3. Start doing the Fruit of the Spirit Galatians 5: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 4. Don t be ashamed to start at the bottom of ministry again 6 Now therefore, command that they cut down cedars for me from Lebanon; and my servants will be with your servants, and I will pay you wages for your servants according to whatever you say. For you know there is none among us who has skill to cut timber like the Sidonians. 7 So it was, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly and said, Blessed be the LORD this day, for He has given David a wise son over this great people! 1 Kings

4 8 Then Hiram sent to Solomon, saying: I have considered the message which you sent me, and I will do all you desire concerning the cedar and cypress logs. 9 My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon to the sea; I will float them in rafts by sea to the place you indicate to me, and will have them broken apart there; then you can take them away. And you shall fulfill my desire by giving food for my household. 10 Then Hiram gave Solomon cedar and cypress logs according to all his desire. 11 And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand kors of wheat as food for his household, and twenty kors of pressed oil. Thus Solomon gave to Hiram year by year. Twenty thousand baths of oil are mentioned in Chronicles; and the Syriac, Arabic, and Septuagint also have here twenty thousand measures. But as barley and wine are also spoken of there, it is probable that the wheat mentioned here, and the small quantity of fine oil, were intended for the use of Hiram s own family, while that in Chronicles was for his workmen So the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as He had promised him; and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them made a treaty together. 13 Then King Solomon raised up a labor force out of all Israel; and the labor force was thirty thousand men. 14 And he sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month in shifts: they were one month in Lebanon and two months at home; Adoniram was in charge of the labor force. 15 Solomon had seventy thousand who carried burdens, and eighty thousand who quarried stone in the mountains, 16 besides three thousand three hundred from the chiefs of Solomon s deputies, who supervised the people who labored in the work. 17 And the king commanded them to quarry large stones, costly stones, and hewn stones, to lay the foundation of the temple. 18 So Solomon s builders, Hiram s builders, and the Gebalites quarried them; and they prepared timber and stones to build the temple. German archaeologists have discovered the largest stone ever carved by human hands, possibly dating to more than 2,000 years ago. Still partially buried, the monolith measures 19.6 meters (64 feet) in length, 6 meters (19.6 feet) wide, and is at least 5.5 meters (18 feet) high. 6 2 nd largest stone ever used in construction in History Length: 41 feet Depth: 11.5 ft.- 15 ft Height: 11.5 ft. Weight: Over 500 metric tons. Focus on the massiveness of this huge stone. Over 500 metric tons! What is truly amazing is that today's best cranes can only lift 250 tons. This means, of course, that we will have to totally re-think our understanding of the technology our ancient brethren had when they built the Temples. Realize that street level of that time was 20 ft. (6.5 meters) below where your (virtual) feet are now and bedrock is some 33 ft. (10 meters) down. How did they lift the stones of the Master Course into position? One theory notes that the quarry was to the north of the Temple Mount and at a higher elevation. If so, the builders could have pushed the stone into place using levers and pulley systems available at that time... Notice that the stones underneath the Master Course are smaller. The Wall was built without any mortar or cement. The massive stones of the Master Course were used to stabilize the Wall. It was such an effective method that, throughout history, the Wall withstood disastrous earthquakes.
