Lonely in that void even for pain, he missed his splintered feet, the human stare buried in his face. He ached for two hands made of meat he could reach to the end of. In the corpse s core, the stone fist of his heart began to bang on the stiff chest s door, and breath spilled back into that battered shape. When they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled back. You don't need to be a member of this church or any church. Come forward at the direction of the usher. Pick up a piece of bread, gluten or non-gluten, and dip it in the cup. If you are not sure what to do, ask, and we are glad to explain. The cup contains grape juice. Children of any age may receive if their parents are comfortable, or you may bring them forward and we will give them a simple blessing. Everyone is welcome, without exception. We use it for children's worship, meditation, Wed. night worship and holy days, and on Sunday s in the summer. Weddings, funerals, memorial services, christenings and other rites of passage take place in this sacred space. and it is easily adapted for conversations, lectures, book discussions and forums. Many people have commented that it is one of their favorite rooms here. In order to preserve the room and its use, we have to now pay attention to the windows. The transparent panes of our large, clear glass windows serve a spiritual function as they draw our gaze outward, remind us of nature and of the world outside that awaits us once we have we have been renewed and comforted here. These aren't "just" windows...they are sacred architecture. And - they are windows that now need to be replaced with environmentally sound, double-paned glass that is energy efficient. The Building Committee with input from Environmental team members have devised a plan to replacement them before summer worship We have five windows available for naming in memory or celebration of people or occasions and are inviting you make one as a gift. The suggestion donation is between $7,500 and $10,000, at your discretion - extra funds will help with unanticipated cost overruns or to assist with other chapel structure repairs over time. You can make a gift as an individual, or as a family, or a group of people can collaborate on a gift. Talk to Rev. Jim or Danielle if you are interested. We appreciate every one's generosity. Let's see if we can pledge this project fully by May 31st. 15

17 ANNOUNCEMENTS & EVENTS April 1, 2018 The Transition Team has finished writing our Church Profile. Now completed, we have sent it to The Reverend Wendy Vander Hart from the Massachusetts Conference UCC to review and validate. We will be meeting with her on Wednesday, April 11 to complete the process. The Transition Team is so appreciative of the support that the Congregation has given us in the preparation of the Church Profile. This document will serve as the foundation for the work of the Search Committee as they begin the search for a new settled Senior Minister. Please support them through prayer and encouragement. 18 The 3.1 mile walk begins at 9AM at the Natick Community Senior Center and winds through historic downtown Natick, then along neighborhood sidewalks through pleasant tree lined streets of older homes full of character, many with front porches. You ll walk past Natick High School and even get water views of Dug Pond. There s an award ceremony after and a raffle with very awesome prizes. And it s all over by 11AM! Register to walk or sponsor at Do you enjoy singing? The Choir extends an invitation to all who like to sing. Just bring your voice to church on any Sunday morning at 8:30. We practice pieces for the service and perhaps for the next week as well. We have an evening rehearsal just once a month on the first Thursday at 7:30, where we preview the music for the coming four weeks. They are fun to sing and so it is a good time to give choir a try. If you wish to sing only one time, now and again or every week, you are welcome. CHIMING SUBS NEEDED! If you want a fun, spur-of-the-moment musical experience, an opportunity to try chiming with no regular commitment that would also be helping our Friendly Chimers, please just join our rehearsals after church from 11:30-12:15. Family & Youth Ministries For Children Vacation Bible School (VBS): Camp Courage Tuesday, April 17-Friday, April 20, 9:00 AM-1:00 PM Students in Pre-K through Grade 5 will learn about God's love through fun camping-themed activities including arts & crafts, cooking, games, and science. Each day will begin with a Bible story and theme and end with worship. VBS runs from 9 AM -1 PM Tuesday, April 17 - Friday, April 20. The cost for this program is $25 per day/child. (If this program is cost-prohibitive for your family, please reach out to our CE director, Maddie, as scholarships are available!) First Formal Communion Workshop: Sunday, April 22, 11:30 AM-1:30 PM Students in first grade (and older students who have not participated previously) are invited to learn more about Communion in the Protestant tradition. Our workshop will include baking bread and preparation for First Formal Communion during the Sunday morning worship service on May 6 at 10:00 AM.
