2 Welcome! Welcome to the first edition of the St. Joseph Parish Business Directory (January 2008)! The man or woman sitting next to you in church each week may be someone that has a service or product that you may need and you may have a product or service that they may need. To help foster a more engaged parish community, we encourage parishioners to keep this directory near their phone and to use this directory first before going to strangers. The members listed in this directory are members of St. Joseph Parish. It s amazing to see how talented and diverse we are as a group. God has surely blessed us. When you choose someone in this directory, please let them know that you found their name in this directory. The directory is also available online at the parish website at where additional copies can be printed. Depending on response, we plan to update the directory each year. Watch for the call for listings in the fall. We are also open to suggestions to enhance the directory. Call or the church office if you have ideas! Please continue to check the back of the church bulletin for more detailed advertisements of some of the parishioners in this directory. 3 If God were Listed. If God were to put a listing in this directory, what category would He choose? You can find Him under Father, but that s just one of His claims to fame. But really, how many of us would look to find Him there? Truly, He wants to be known as our Heavenly Father, the last person we say good night to, and the first person we greet in the morning. He is after all, our Greatest Provider. Maybe He would list under Physician, but He knows that most don t come to Him anyway before putting their faith in science, and mere mortal men. You know, He IS the Ultimate Healer, but we always seem to forget to call on Him FIRST for the best treatment. I don t think He would want to be called a Psychic, or Mind Reader, even though He always knows what s going to happen, always has, always will. He knows why you re calling, before you even ask, and He doesn t need tarot cards. He could be called an Artist. I mean, did you see that sunset last night? The universe is His canvas, and not even our wildest imagination can create such a vision. It s a wonder why He still creates such masterpieces, day after day, when we seldom take notice. Then there s Designer, and let s face it, there is no competition, Interior or Exterior. What about Author? I mean, the Book! Did you ever read His Book!? And of course let s not forget, we might find Him listed as Teacher! Oh, if we would only study a little more, and stop skipping class. He doesn t have a phone number, but you can call Him anytime. You won t get the sound of an answering machine, or have to press this number or that number to get through. He doesn t believe in s, and that s why He won t answer you back via the Internet. His office never closes, not even on His only Son s birthday, or for His only Son s funeral, for that matter. Speaking of His Son, He inherited His Father s business. You just tell them that Jesus sent you when you get to the door, and you ll be treated like family. Oh, and get this your bill has already been paid! Nancy L.
