From the desk of our Director of Missions Christ referred to us as his body. The members of our physical body have a special kind of union with one another. They have a connection that goes beyond unity. When I think of unity, I think of a collection of different parts that are organized and work together to accomplish a task. A mechanical watch, for example, is a collection of separate parts that are organized to keep time. If one were to disassemble the watch, each part could exist independently from the others. The church, however, is not merely assembled parts, placed together to accomplish a task. The church is a body, and the members of a body are living, and they impart life to one another. Separated, the members of a body will die. My fingers, toes, heart and lungs, with their special functions and abilities, are designed to be life giving. As each member of the body of Christ walks in the Spirit, we contribute something life giving to the other members of the body. I m encouraged by the life giving relationships that we have within our Association. Over the past 7 months, many of you have breathed spiritual life into me through our discussions, prayer and serving together. Our Association has the potential for more and deeper connections, and that is a very exciting and energizing prospect. My hope and prayer and work is increased fellowship among the saints, so that we might impart spiritual life and vitality to one another.

2 Dear DBA Partners, I know you have heard of the devastating floods in Texas and want to help. The Georgia Baptist Mission Board is collecting Buckets of Care for the affected areas, and we wanted to give you the opportunity to participate. For an informative instructional video please visit In addition to the items below please feel free to include a bible and/or gospel tract. Attached is a copy of the homeowner instructions Mud Out in a Minute to include in the buckets. PS. All items MUST be put in 5 gallon buckets which are available at Lowes, Handy Andy, Home Depot, and maybe Walmart. Remember, all buckets must have a lid. Bucket of Care for Flood Victims Safety Equipment 6 pair exam gloves (hypoallergenic) 2 pair leather gloves 2 pair safety goggles 4 dust masks Tools 1 utility knife with extra blades 1 chalk line with chalk 6 Teri cloth rags 1 flashlight and 6 batteries 1 6' or 12 measuring tape 1 twist nozzle for a garden hose First Aid 1 bottle Anti-Bacterial hand wash 1 bottle Hydrogen peroxide 1 bottle Alcohol 1 antibiotic cream 1 box Band aides TEXAS Place all of the above into a 5-gallon bucket along with a copy of the homeowner instructions Mud Out in a Minute on top, and close with lid. DROP OFF: DBA office In addition to the Buckets of Care, there is a great need for those who are willing to serve as Disaster Relief volunteers. According to GBMB, The number of volunteers has declined drastically since we have not been called out for several years. Now with Hurricane Harvey we need all the help we can get. If you would like to serve as Disaster Relief volunteer in Texas, orientation (which is required for all volunteers) will be at New Providence Baptist Church, Forsyth, GA, on September 16, The registration deadline is Sept. 8th. At this credentialing session, you will receive an introduction to the overall ministry of Disaster Relief, 3 ministry areas (Child Care, Cleanup & Recovery, and Feeding), and Evangelism Encouragement. 6 Super Kidz Riding 4 Super Kidz Thank you for participating as a Super Kid Missionary, you will be showing the love of Christ to children staying at the Baxley s Children s Home! What a great mission! Here's some things you ll need to know: LOCATION & TIMES: Tabernacle Baptist Church 1715 Mt. Vernon Hwy, Vidalia Saturday, Sept. 9th Arrive at 8:30 am, cycling will begin at 9:00 am sharp 1. Each Super Kid will raise his/her own funding. This can be done by asking family and friends to sponsor you, either per lap or for a flat amount. 2. Each Super Kid will ride two 15 minute races around the church (children will not ride near roads & the riding area will be closed to traffic). We anticipate children to ride between total laps. 3. Younger Super Kidz will have the opportunity to ride on a smaller track at the church. 4. All Super Kidz are welcomed & encouraged to wear a costume! 5. Students may ride whatever type of bicycle they prefer, however, no motorized bikes allowed. 6. Drinks, snacks, and fun will be provided by the Daniell Baptist Association. I will be riding in a Bike-A-Thon to raise funds for the Baxley Children's Home on September 9th and need your help! Would you consider sponsoring me? How sponsorship works: 1. Jeremiah 3:15 Interesting Fact: Served on White House duty under two presidents while in the USMC. Short Biography: I was raised in north Florida. After completion of high school worked odd jobs and met my wife on a blind date. Joined the USMC in 1989 and discharged in I have traveled all over the US. I was saved at an evangelistic event held in an elementary school at age sixteen. I have bee ordained for about nine years now and am currently at my first church as pastor. It is a lot of work but I am loving it. A special thank you to the following churches who have partnered with the Association through financial giving so far this year.
