1 MINISTRY PLAN

2 Church family, Because of God s greatness and grace, we treasure Christ, grow together, serve one another, and live on mission. These words remind us that Jesus is greater than all our pursuits. As with any given mission, in order to accomplish it, you must have a plan. This document is a reflection of that plan that focuses on four primary areas of emphasis: 1. Treasure Christ (weekly worship gatherings) - Our weekly worship gatherings are designed to help people treasure Christ above all else in response to God s grace. 2. Grow together (groups) - We partner together in groups to encourage and shepherd one another. 3. Serve one another (serve in a ministry) - We provide serving opportunities so we may use our spiritual gifts and serve His church. 4. Live on mission (mission opportunities) - We offer mission opportunities locally, nationally, and globally so our people may join God in His mission of bringing people to Himself. As with most plans, there is a cost. A church ministry plan is funded by the gifts of God s people through a local body of believers. It is through your faithful obedience in stewarding what God has given you to bring your tithes and offerings on a regular basis. Giving is a true indicator of our heart. The apostle Paul tells the church in Corinth (2 Corinthians 9:6) that their spiritual growth will be in direct relationship to their generous giving. Then, in verse 7, he says, each person should do as he has decided in his heart - not reluctantly or out of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver. Paul reminds us not to give out of a reluctant heart or out of a motivation of legalism, but to give to please God. And in doing so, we find our greatest joy in giving. The Budget and Finance Committee and the church staff offer this ministry plan for Fiscal Year to the congregation. Your staff has proven to be good stewards of the resources provided and I am asking that you prayerfully consider approving this ministry plan. I want to publicly thank the finance committee for their hard work with our staff in forming this budget, as well as, the personnel and missions committee. The leaders that serve on these committees take their responsibilities seriously and are joyful partners in ministry. I am indebted to their servant leadership. Mark Satterfield Executive Pastor LETTER FROM PASTOR MARK Budget and Finance Committee Members: Cody Bryant (chairman), Sammy Duke, Nancy Goins, Bruce Gordon, Paul Bolin, Danny Zink, Peggy Stephens, Marty Hudson, Eric Lackey, Wayne Acklen (church treasurer), Jeremy Bussell (Church Administrator and staff liaison) 2 BECAUSE OF GOD S GREATNESS AND GRACE

10 YOUR GIVING MATTERS. Scriptures teach us much about possessions and giving. In the Old Testament we find stories of those bringing their first fruits as a sacrifice and offering to the Holy God. In the New Testament, we hear from Jesus that our giving is a reflection of our hearts. In Paul s second letter to the Corinthians, he calls us to examine our motivation for giving: Remember this: the person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly and the person who sows generously will also reap generously. Each person should do as he has decided in his heart-not out of regret or out of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make every grace overflow to you, so that in every way, always having everything you need, you may excel in every good work. ClearView teaches that we are stewards of the money and possessions God provides. God is the owner of everything. Giving is our response to His greatness and grace. WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO SUPPORT THE LOCAL CHURCH? When we see offerings and gifts received in both the Old and New Testaments, we see this pattern Any time there was an offering taken, the funds were given in trust and for distribution by the leadership, who had the best and broadest view of the needs of those in the body. One clear statement in this regard is Acts 4:34-35: For there was not a needy person among them, because all those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, and laid them at the apostles feet. This was then distributed to each person as anyone had a need. This is the way the early church handled its resources. CLEARVIEW.ORG/MINISTRYPLAN
