1 Joplin Church of the Nazarene District HIGHLIGHTS Winter Dear Joplin ministry team, "I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not over come it." Matthew 16:18 God is building His church on the Joplin District. Praise God for a great beginning. Our first six months together have been wonderful. God is helping. This week our district hosted the largest ever church planting conference in the history of our denomination in the USA. In the middle of a snow storm, we had 86 people show up to train and learn how to plant churches. A total of 57 from the Joplin District were present (See a picture below of the faithful.) Pr aise God for the faithfulness of our pastors and leaders who braved the storm and drove through dangerous road conditions Rev. Mark Bane two weeks before Christmas. Wow! I am so grateful to be a part of a committed team District Superintendent of ministers and lay leaders. If you have not yet been to the Church Planting training yet, another training is planned March 17- in Springfield. More information to come. It is clear that God is up to something great on the Joplin District. Thanks for your many prayers and efforts to make Christ-like disciples. It is working. Many have asked about Cheri and me and our housing. We are finally in our home. We moved the week of Thanksgiving and are unpacking boxes we haven't seen the contents of for 6 months. Every box that is opened is like having Christmas all over again. Thanks to those who helped us transport from our rental to our new home. I am praying you all have a great season of celebrating our Lord's birth. It is the greatest time of year for His Church. Honored to serve with you, Mark J Bane Front Row: Dale Samuels, Rigoberto Agustin, Bill Wiesman, Mark Bane, Chris Carver, Second Row: Luis Lopez, Ismael Lopez Hernandez, Faithe Haeck, Bri Morrison, Angie Brasfield, Gene Dement, Joyce Dement, Sheila Pollard, Moisés Márquez, Maryilyn Baker, Jim Cariker, Mark Hatcher, Bill Knight; Third Row: Jeremy Henderson Jackie West, Jerry Kazmaier, Mike Hull, Samuel Cordova, Daniela Torres, Sandra Cordova, Leon Hendrix, Donna Mikhail, Roger McGuire, Fred Toomey, Jim Sukraw, Darrel Bisel, Mike Richardson, Brian Harris, John Prichard, Kevin McDonald, Gary Swearengin, Rodney Tucker, Noel George, Tom Waller, Fourth Row: Rob Musick, Rick Haworth, Eder Aguirre, Wendell Daniel, Phil Rhoades, Josh Griffith, Josh Shouse, Brent Pankey, Titus Teed, Tim Martin, Wayne Rose, Leon Hendrix, Scott Moore, Dustin Ledford, Stephen Morrison, Kyle Rogers, Grant Foster, Nathan Haeck, Landon Letsinger, Don Baker, Jay Dick, Darren Melton

3 Nazarene Missions International President, Rhonda Rhoades 8 Park Rd., Garnett, KS M erry Christmas and Happy New Year from your NMI Council! As we celebrate these two Holidays we are reminded that 1/2 of our year is over and now is the time to check up on all your WEF and district opportunities for giving in the Name of Jesus. The Mission is Possible as we trust in the Word of God, "All things are possible through Christ Jesus who strengthens us." I know that together we can be a 100% District with every congregation participating and giving. I hope that every Joplin Nazarene makes prayer and fasting a priority for this new year. We must cry out to the LORD in faith and humility as we seek His heart and His desires for our personal life, our local church and our District! Together we are strong. Blessings, Rhonda Rhoades December Emphasis How does your church do Nazarene Compassionate Ministries Crisis Care Kits? School Pal Paks? Child Sponsorship? 30-Hour Famine? Ministry Projects? NCM Magazine? We trust that you are in the business of meeting physical and spiritual needs through one of these and/or other means. May God bless you and your church for the many ways that you reach out in compassion to those near and far! Please Remember to pray now and in the months to come for our Philippine brothers and sisters as they process through the devastation of a crippling earthquake followed three weeks later by a typhoon unlike any others that have made landfall. Pray for those that have lost loved ones. Pray for those that have no place to live. Pray for the temporary disaster workers as they try to help, but especially pray for the Christian community there as they reach out to assist those in their communities. Please consider helping in any and all ways that you can. To give a donation electronically, visit Thank you!
