If so, why not show your appreciation to God by giving a floral arrangement or live plant to enrich the sanctuary. May God continue to bless each one as you contemplate giving. Interested persons can contact Sisters Avril Sullivan at telephone # , or Lathera Knowles. THE BAD BOY FROM CONEY ISLAND: The Ron Halverson Story Part 2: Ron heard none of it. The day s events kept playing over and over in his mind. His face still stung from where he d been slapped, and he had skipped supper because his stomach hurt. Something had to change, but what could he do? If only he were older. He d have his own gang, and then the others wouldn t dare bother him. A gang was like family they protected their own. I have to come up with a better plan, Ron thought. Then it came to him. Tank! That was the answer. The boy who lived next door was nicknamed Tank and with good reason. Tank was huge! His shirt stretched tightly over layer upon layer of muscle. Children scattered when they saw him coming down the street. Nobody messed with Tank or his friends. Ron made his decision. It was time to make friends with Tank. The next morning Ron tentatively approached Tank as the bigger boy sat staring out his apartment window before school. H-hey, Tank. Y-ya goin to school today? Guess so. Why? Mind if I walk with ya? Sure. Why not? As they approached the school, Ron stood straight and tall, sauntering down the street next to his big new friend. The bullies made an appearance, but scattered as soon as they saw whom Ron was with. Thanks for letting me walk with you, Ron said, grinning up at Tank. No sweat. See ya after school. Sure thing! Ron grinned. Ron couldn t stop smiling as he headed to class. No more dark alleys or side streets for me, he thought to himself. No more bloody noses or ripped clothes. Life is good! From then on Ron and Tank were inseparable. They played football together, swam together, and even got in trouble together. And bullies thought twice before taunting Ron, because they knew if they did they d have to answer to Tank. Ron knew that with Tank by his side he would always be safe. What he didn t know was that another Friend was watching over him too, and that when he finally met Him it would change his life forever. Until then Ron lived to survive no matter what it took.

Season s greetings and happy Sabbath to everyone. We are delighted to come together as one big family to worship today. We welcome all of our friends and visitors who attend the first and second worship services. There are only six days to Christmas. As we celebrate let us remember the reason for the season. While it is great to give gifts to one another and have sumpteous, healthy meals, let us remember those who are in need. Moreso, let us remember or Saviour, Emanual, God with us the real reason for the season. I would like to share a deligtful recipe of mine to add to your Christmas meal. It is my favorite Onion Pie. Yes, you read correctly. Here is the recipe: Three to six onions or more (depending on the desired size of the Pie). Little vegetable oil, Salt to taste, Thyme or Italian Seasoning Whole grain flour, Half stick of margrine Here s how: Slice and ring onions. Saute in pan with seasoning and oil until partially cooked. Do not overcook. You may add other seasoning to your liking. Make pie crust as you normally do. Line pie pan with crust and pour in onion. Cover with pie shell and back for 30 to 45 minutes or until properly cooked. Slice and serve while hot. It can be kept in the refridgerator for another meal. The Value of Onions: Onions are a nutrient-dense food, meaning that while they are low in calories they are high in beneficial nutrients like vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. One cup of chopped onion contains approximately 64 calories, 15 grams of carbohydrate, 0 grams of fat, 0 grams of cholesterol, 3 grams of fiber, 7 grams of sugar, 2 grams of protein and 10% or more of the daily value for vitamin C, vitamin B-6 and manganese. Onions also contain small amounts of calcium, iron, folate, magnesium, phosphorus and potassium and the antioxidants quercetin and sulfur. Making the gospel attractive through loving actions

TRANSFER OF MEMBERSHIP - INCOMING This is the First Reading of membership transfers for Samantha Williamson and Charles Williamson from the Real Harvest Church to the Grant's Town Church. FOCUS ON EDUCATION: December is the month when the world generally is in a mood of rejoicing and great gladness! They believe that Jesus was born on December 25. There is no scriptural basis for this. However, we do have evidence of the place not the time of Jesus birth. For Luke 2:11 states, For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. So let us have Christ, the Source of Our Joy every day of the year. Let me not wait for the right place, the right time, to celebrate Your presence. Let me go rejoicing through my days, abiding in You and delighting in You, praising You now and forever. by B. J. Hoff
