3 Delta Team My Exodus to Zion Hey graduating seniors! You are invited this summer to be a part of an elite team---the Delta Team. Yes, that's right. The Delta Team you heard so much about four years ago during Exodus is being recommissioned. And we want you to be part of it! You will be part of something unique, fun, life-changing, fun, and testimony-building, did I say fun? Listen to what Delta Team Alumni have said: "...I can honestly say I am a changed person." "The Delta Team was truly inspired." "God's presence was with us as we went to the Manti Temple." "I had a sacred experience which taught me a new subtlety of the Spirit's language." "Indescribable how unique and personal something like that can be." The symbol for Exodus 2016 is a triangle with concentric triangles within it. A triangle in chemistry signifies change. Exodus can be the catalyst to change your life. Alma asked, "Have ye spiritually been born of God? Have ye received his image in your countenance? 4 My Exodus to Zion Registration/General Info When: Where: Who can go? Delta team: July 13 16, 2016 (Wednesday to Saturday) From the top of Ephraim Canyon to Manti Youth who are members of the Salem Stake who turn 14 before September 1, 2016 or who are entering the 9th grade must be graduating from high school in May of 2016 Registration: Each youth, Ma and Pa, and any other adult who will be attending Exodus MUST register Registration Deadline: May 15th, 2016 Step 1: Go to Click on Exodus in the main menu tab. Click on Register from the drop down menu. You will be directed to Eventbrite. Follow the step-by-step instructions Step 2: Turn in a signed medical release form at the Exodus Kickoff fireside into the boxes in the foyers, or turn in your medical release form to the young men or young women president in your ward. Buckets.... Each person will need a bucket to carry personal essentials in along the trail. Each individual s bucket will go in the handcart (bulky bedding, etc., will be transported by a crew). More information on the specifics will be available on the stake website. Each youth in 2012 had one, so it s likely you could round one up to borrow. They are also available at most of our local grocery stores.

5 Clothing We will not be wearing pioneer clothing Stake issued t-shirts will be provided 2 pair of long hiking pants best options are lightweight, quick-drying (made from synthetic material such as nylon); loose cotton pants, or light weight, loose jeans will work, but have higher risk of chaffing; if jeans are worn, they need to be plain, simple, normal waist, (no bling, fancy stitching, low riders, tight, torn, or heavily worn pants) full-brimmed hat for protection from the sun straw, canvas, felt, cotton (no baseball caps) light jacket or hoodie, rain poncho, and a warm coat underwear for 4 days. undershirts for boys and girls. socks for each day and a couple of extra pairs; preferably hiking socks with liners or athletic socks warm pajamas (modest church standards) leather or work gloves. ** ALL CLOTHING MUST BE APPROPRIATE AND ADHERE TO CHURCH STANDARDS ** Shoes 2 pair of shoes; 1 for hiking/walking, 1 for water No new shoes running shoes will help avoid blisters and provide a full range of motion for hiking over all types of terrain No heavy shoes shoes need to have good tread heavily worn shoes are not recommended ** MORE CLOTHING AND SHOE INFORMATION WILL BE PROVIDED ON THE WEBSITE AND THROUGH YOUR WARDS**

6 FOOD We look forward to providing youth and leaders with all of the nutrition that they will need to make Exodus a pleasant experience. We will be providing over 700 meals three times a day and there is a chance that your favorite meal might not be served. We are going to do our best to make sure that we have plenty of variety in the meals to keep everyone well fed and happy. Your youth will need to eat breakfast at home on day one and bring a sack lunch for that day as well. They will be home in time for dinner on Saturday. Please feel free to send healthy snacks for them to eat as they hike the trail, especially where special dietary needs are a concern. The food committee will be moving ahead and preparing the next meal, and not traveling along with the handcarts. You will want to try and make sure they are not snacking on junk food. They are going to be walking many miles each day and need to take in nutrition. Please make sure you note any diagnosed food allergies on your medical release permission form, and feel free to us at loren.dianeshumway@gmail.com with any concerns. Please keep in mind that this is for food allergies and not just food preferences. We look forward to spending this time with the amazing youth of the Salem Stake. Details regarding these events will become available on the website, and announced through your ward leadership. We will descend to 5500k at the temple. Please note that weather can change in an instant from sunny to flood-like conditions.
