1 Order of Worship June 17th, 2018 Desire lies at the heart of who God made us to be, who we are at our core. Desire is both our greatest frailty and the mark of our highest beauty. Our desire completes us as we become One with our Lover, and it separates us from Him and brings death as it wars against His will. 3 CALL TO CONFESSION Confession of Sin Our Father, forgive us for thinking small thoughts of you and for ignoring your greatness. Lord Jesus, forgive us when we forget that you rule the nations and our small lives. Holy Spirit, we so often minimize your power and squander your gifts. We confess that our blindness to your glory, O triune God, has resulted in shallow confession, tepid conviction, only mild repentance, and a slowness to open our hearts and lives to people of other lands, tongues, and races. We praise you that in Christ Jesus the barriers that divide have been torn down and the peace of the Gospel can reign in their place. Deliver us from the sins of fear and prejudice. Reconcile us to you once again so that we may be agents of your reconciliation. In Jesus name, Amen. Silent Confession Assurance of Pardon If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Knowing that you have been raised from the dead, I turn from my sins and receive you as Savior and Lord. Amen. 6 CONGREGATIONAL LIFE Mission Trip Prayer Guides: Please be in prayer for our mission team that is traveling to the Dominican Republic, June 23rd-July 1st, to help the staff at Pico Escondido Young Life Camp prepare for summer campers. Prayer guides are available in the back of the worship center. We are sending out the Pierce family to England this summer! Come and hear more about God calling John, Tanya, Evelyn & Charis to move to Haywards Heath, England. We have two opportunities for Hope members to gather for a short time of sharing and praying for this family: June 23rd, 6:30-8:00pm, at the home of Richard and Jessica Bell. Please RSVP to John Pierce ( ) or Jessica Bell ( ). June 24th, 9:30-10:15am, room 201 at Hope Church. All ages are welcome. If you have any questions, contact Sallie Harrison (sallieharrison@triad.rr.com). Hope VBS will be held July 8th-11th from 5:30-8:00pm. This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved at Hope Church and help children dig into God s Word and see how it applies to their lives. Registration for volunteers and participants is now open on our website: hopechurchws.org/vbs2018. The deadline to register children is July 1st. Any child registered after July 1st will only be admitted if space allows in accordance with our class size and ratio policies. VBS All Volunteer Meeting: There is a Mandatory Volunteer Meeting scheduled on Sunday morning, July 8th at 9:30am in Adult Sunday School Classroom. Childcare is provided for 5th grade and younger. Please vbs@hopechurchws.org if you have any questions. Prayer We are excited to announce that we now have a dedicated prayer for prayer requests outside of Sunday mornings (prayer@hopechurchws.org). The account is monitored daily and a weekly prayer group meets every Monday evening at 7:00pm to pray for our church and community.
