2 THE CHURCH GATHERED BIBLE STUDY AND THEOLOGY ON TAP WILL NOT MEET AGAIN UNTIL SEPTEMBER. SECOND HOUR ADULT ED WILL RESUME IN JULY. (Any questions, please call the church office.) ANNUAL SPRING PICNIC Sunday, June 4, 11:30 am on the Front Lawn or Widener Hall Join us for our Annual Spring Picnic on the church lawn outside or in Widener Hall immediately following worship. Hotdogs, hamburgers, beverages, and dessert will be provided. Please see the signup sheet on the bulletin board outside the church office to sign up for a side dish provided by you! A donation is requested: $5 for adults, $2 for kids. Come and enjoy the fellowship and fun! There is also a sign-up sheet for set-up and clean-up. We could use six volunteers before and after to help the Hospitality Committee. Thank you! DO YOU WANT TO SING WITH THE PCCH GALLERY CHOIR? On Sundays June 11, 18 and 25, anyone interested in singing may join the Gallery Choir in worship! No audition is required. Please arrive at 9:00 a.m. in the Gallery (organ loft) to rehearse for the 10:00 a.m. service. This is a great chance if you are new, too busy on Thursday nights, or t sure how to get involved to meet one another and get singing! No ongoing commitment is required if you come, but anyone who enjoys the experience and wants to join the Gallery Choir in the fall may audition with Dan after the service or at a later date. If you cannot make it on one of these days but you want to sing in the choir, or if you have any questions, please contact Dan at danielspratlan@gmail.com. HOW YOU CAN HELP GERMANTOWN AVENUE CRISIS MINISTRY: Next collection date is Sunday, June 4. GACM provides food, fuel, clothing, housing and other emergency assistance to those who live in the Northwest section of Philadelphia. We collect food and cash donation for the GACM Food Cupboard on the first Sunday of every month. Please help with your donations of: canned tuna, chicken and meats; rice, pasta, and potato products (not in glass jars); peanut butter; canned vegetables; powdered milk; hearty soups and stews; and hot cereals.

3 DINNERS NEEDED FOR PIHN FAMILIES PIHN is reaching out to everyone in hopes that we can help them recruit a few dinners in the beginning of June. They are looking for dinners for 6/4, 6/5, 6/6, 6/7 and 6/8. Please contact Keyonnee directly at Keyonnee@philashelter.org or if you are interested. The families will be staying at the Lutheran Theological Seminary which is directly across the street from the Wawa on Germantown Ave., the exact address is 7301 Germantown Ave. INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS SEEK FRIENDLY HOST FAMILIES FOR SCHOOL YEAR Could you host a student for a few weeks, a semester or the whole school year? Here is some info about three of the students: Yifan from China is an enthusiastic and accomplished female violinist and loves sports; Itim is a girl from Thailand who tutors younger students in science and math, loves cooking Thai food and watching sports, and wants to study psychology; Francesco is an Italian boy who loves sports, especially soccer and basketball and is keen to go to law school. OUR BROTHER S PLACE The Social Witness Committee would like to offer special thanks to all members who continue to help with our outreach at the OBP Shelter. We will continue to provide dinner on the fourth Sunday of each month, but will no longer send volunteers to serve. We continue to need monthly donations of sloppy joes (simple recipe: brown two pounds of ground beef or turkey, add a can of Manwich sauce, freeze flat in a ziploc bag and bring to the freezer in the Church kitchen.). FACE TO FACE The Social Witness Committee is excited to offer the congregation a new opportunity for discipleship in Northwest Philadelphia. Face to Face is a well rooted, well managed community service organization located in Germantown, just 15 minutes from church. It provides health, legal, after-school counseling and other services to area residents. Face to Face also provides them with meals and it counts on volunteers to help prepare and serve the meals. in assisting Face to Face with the hot noonday dinners served at least four times a week either assisting in preparing the meal under the guidance of a professional chef during the morning, or assisting in serving the meal to clients around noontime. We are planning to begin this service project on Saturdays once a month initially. Please consider finding out more and signing up in Widener Hall after the service.
