It has been two years and time to elect new officers for Chapter 29. Our President Terry Buckler is in the process of forming a nomination committee and its Chair will be announced as soon as it becomes available. If anyone is interested in running for an Office please contact Terry Buckler (tbuckler@delta-kc.com or ) or let the Nomination Chairperson know as soon as he is announced. Also with the election of new offices the Chapter will be in need of a new Newsletter Editor. Anyone interested in the job please contact Terry Buckler. Do Not Be Left Outside the Wire! If you have not renewed your SFA membership for 2013 by January 1, 3013, then you are outside the wire,delinquent. It s cold and exposed out there, isn t it? If you have not renewed by January 30, 2013, then your membership is dropped. Do not be left outside the wire in the cold, exposed and alone. Contact Jeff Forker at jaforker@everestskc.net See page 8 for your renewal form. SOF Formal 2013 The 2013 Special Operations Forces Ball will be held March 9th at the Argosy Hotel. That is the same location and facility that was used for the 2012 SOF Ball. There are several special aspects scheduled for 2013 that may be particularly appealing to Chapter 29 members. COL(R) Roger Donlon will be presented the St. Phillip Neri Gold Award. It is the highest award given by the Special Forces Association and is given for 30 or more years of conspicuous service to Special Forces. There will be a performance by a bagpiper band that should be a very moving experience for all who are in attendance. In addition, Norma Donlon has arranged for a world-class tenor to perform. He is Mr. Steve Amerson and he has performed many times for the Medal of Honor Society. Mr. Amerson's basic performance fee has been underwritten by the Gary Sinise Foundation. Kudos to Norma for her work with Mr. Amerson and the Gary Sinise Foundation to accomplish this excellent addition to the SOF Ball for Sales of raffle tickets for the 1911 Colt.45 Auto are well underway. Thus far the CGSC students have turned over $550. in raffle sales money. Treasurer Ted White has deposited the money in the SFA-29 bank account. The changes made to our monthly breakfast meetings have been well received. Our guest speakers have provided some very interesting subjects. If you have been considering attending our monthly meeting I don t think you will be disappointed. If you have any suggestions for speakers please contact Jon Meigs. My thanks to Col Radtke and his lovely wife Joyce and Ron and Simmons and his lovely wife Barb for arranging for our Christmas party. This was a great success with 34 members and guest attending.
