The New England Brass Band 4:00 pm in the Sanctuary The New England Brass Band returns to Boston with a concert at Arlington Street Church National Champions of the Challenge Division, internationally recognized, and the and authors of several CDs. The NEBB is a 30 piece, all brass and percussion ensemble directed by Douglas Yeo, bass trombonist of the Boston Symphony. For more information, visit rassband.org. We ll talk in class about the different ways people think about meaning in the world and what different views of humans and the divine exist in our own classroom. Stress will be placed on the individual s active role in this process. We ll begin today in the Hunnewell Chapel. Arlington Street Outdoors Club (ASOC) Spring and Early Summer, 2005 Happy Spring! You are invited to join ASOC in a number of activities that we have planned for this spring and early summer. On May 1 st we will be joining the Friday Night Supper Program in the Walk for Hunger in Boston. This is an opportunity to get warmed up for the season and help a very good cause. On May 21 th - 22 nd we will spend two days hiking in the Franconia Notch area of New Hampshire and enjoying the gorgeous mountain views at the nearby Mad River Lodge. On May 27 th - 28 th, join ASOC for a two day Plymouth to Provincetown bike ride.

4 On July 2 nd - 4 th we will be returning to the Appalachian Mountain Club s rustic Galehead Hut, with the spectacular Pemigewasset Wilderness area at our doorstep, for a weekend of hiking and relaxing in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Tickets available or Caring for your Dead Workshop Wednesday, May 4 th, 6:00-8:00 pm in the Clarke Room Many people think that only a funeral home can care for the body once a person dies. This workshop will explore alternatives to the traditional funeral through the growing home funeral movement. We will discuss funeral industry practices and legal issues in Massachusetts associated with caring for the dead. Discussion will include preparation of the body at home, death ritual and disposition. We will show the documentary, A Family Undertaking which highlights the stories of people who forgo the services of the funeral home and take care of the funeral themselves. Presenters: Nancy Accola, board member of the Funeral Consumer Alliance and Judith Lorei, ASC member and former funeral director apprentice. Kakamega Blue Sweater and Education Campaign Sunday, May 8 th, 12:30 pm in the Clarke Room On Mother s Day, May 8 th, there will be a perfect oppurtunity to honor your Mother with a donation to the Kakamega Blue Sweater and Education Campaign. This project allows children living in an AIDS orphanage, who are not fortunate enough to have a mother, to attend school. Education is their only hope and our help is vital.
