Do you wish that there was a place just for you when not in class or worship? Please visit the Youth Table in Wendte Hall at any time on Sunday mornings. Help: Justice Council Tri-fold Missing! A colorful photo filled tri-fold for the justice council table has not been seen since last fall. Does anyone have ideas of where it might have gone during renovation? (I spent 20+ hrs on it, and hope I don't have to start all over again.) - Please call Micky Duxbury Book Club All are welcome to come to the church book club, which meets once a month for friendship and a book discussion. All meetings are on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Emily Stoper. Please contact Emily at estoper1@yahoo.com for the location and to discuss accessibility questions. Refreshments will be served. On August 26, we'll be discussing The Post-American World, by Fareed Zakaria. On September 23, it will be The Woman Behind the New Deal, Social Security, Unemployment Insurance and the Minimum Wage: The Life and Legacy of Frances Perkins by Kristin Downey. Where's Rev. Kathy? Though our senior minister Rev. Kathy Huff is not in the pulpit and leading worship during the months of July and August, she is not taking a summer leave as is the custom. Instead she is working with Church Manager Charla Weiss and other church members and staff to help hire, build and orient a new staff team. She is also catching up with projects past due and doing important planning for the new program year. Rev. Kathy resumes a regular preaching schedule after Labor Day

With only a few weeks remaining to raise funds for our Asst. Minister for Community Engagement, we've secured just over $36,000 toward our $50,000 goal. Your participation matters. Remember Joani Blank's challenge! She'll donate $3,000 if another church member or household will match it. We are making calls and talking to members about donating for low cost, high yield investments in saving energy and the church about $2000 a year! Children's Activities on Summer Sundays All ages are welcome in worship at 10:30 AM. Nursery care for babies and toddlers is on the first floor. Organized activities (games, crafts and stories) for K- 4th grade during worship are on the second floor. Parent classroom assistants are always needed Sundays in our UU Kids room. Sign-

Our two service schedule begins that day with worship at 9:30 and 11:30. Director of Children and Family Ministries Selected Have you heard the news? The search team has found just the right person for this new position. A detailed announcement in July shared the good news that Laila D. Ibrahim was chosen for the job! She starts in late August. Leadership School with the PCD Aug Please visit more details about our district's leadership school training at the Earth Matters Retreat Center. Some scholarships are available but space is limited. Young Religious UUs Summer Conference Aug Registration for this year's YRUU Summer Con, Rock CON, will be open until Aug. 6, with an early bird discount for those who register before July 23. The Con will be held Aug at the UU Church of Berkeley, and is open to youth between the ages of 14 and 20.
