In the Community by Gail Marie Beckman Remember, Friday, June 1st is the day to be at Peace Park, 11am to 2pm, to help celebrate the one-year anniversary of Sandy Valley Counseling Center. They will have a barbecue, face painting, games for the kids, and raffle prizes! Also, in case you did not know, our very own Sandy Valley Post Office will take your tattered and worn out flags of all sizes to be held until proper retirement on Flag Day. Again this year, on Thursday, June 14th, starting at 6pm, Sandy Valley's American Legion Post 27 will conduct the official flag-burning ceremony outside Keystone Center and provide burgers and beverages for the attendees. Worn flags can be brought to the ceremony, and new flags can be purchased as well. Come out and join us!
