You came to us with a vision of us being "One Church, Working Together", and you have united us under that vision as we endeavor to be the "Heart and Hands" of West Philadelphia. In a time when the importance of the black church is waning under the weight of harsh socioeconomic conditions, you have helped Mount Carmel remain steadfast in our commitment to our membership and community. The PEPP project has allowed us to create new resources for tenants, including tenant rights videos, a resource guide, and a tool to help tenants find rental assistance. By eliminating the mortgage, we will be in a far better position to address structural/ maintenance needs inside and outside of the church building, while at the same time meeting and expanding our ministry opportunities for the church family and wider community.
