4 "Footsteps of Faith: Still Walking" Campaign This campaign is a one year (July July 2019) faith journey in order to eliminate the remaining mortgage balance. We have entered into our final 4-month phase of the Footsteps of Faith: Still Walking Campaign. God has truly blessed us and as we remain committed to this journey of sacrifice let s also be committed to a spiritual journey of fasting, meditation and prayer every Wednesday, over the next 4 months ending on June 26, Although some of you may not be able to turn down your physical plates, we can all give up something on Wednesdays (social media, television, sweets, sugary drinks, coffee, etc.) that will allow us to have a more intimate relationship with God. Let s be prayerful as we achieve our goal One Church Working Together. See pledge cards and envelopes in the entryway. "An Amazing Gospel Brunch" The Deaconess Ministry invites you to attend the Second Annual "Amazing Gospel Brunch" on Saturday, March 16, 2019, from 10 am- 1 pm in the D. W. Hoggard Fellowship Hall. Come enjoy the Sounds of Gospel, Good Food and Glorious Fellowship. Tickets are $25. March 4Ward Community Event Overcame Foundations presents March 4Ward s 3rd Annual Community Dinner on Saturday, March 16th from 5-7:30pm. Serving the community of Philadelphia, to inspire and engage the community as a whole, and to showcase black excellence. We will provide families with resources and an enjoyable event for the family. Our own First Lady Dr. Pamela Moore will be the guest speaker. This is a FREE event!

5 Mark Your Calendar Church Meeting, Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 7pm Giving Envelopes Please pick up your 2019 giving envelopes which are located on the sanctuary level floor. Make sure the box has YOUR NAME on it. If you get home and have the wrong box, please return it to the church office. Lenten Envelopes Your Lenten envelopes are now located in your 2019 giving envelopes. If you misplaced or need an extra one, they are extras located at the entrances to the sanctuary. UNCF and St. Jude Day of Hope Thank you all for your contributions to these endeavors. We were able to donate $2,500 to UNCF and $4,000 to St. Jude Children s Research Hospital. 6 Mount Carmel Church Wide Clean Up and Shredding Event Clean up will be March 23rd from 9am until 12 noon. All Ministries should participate in cleaning out your closets and storage areas around the church. All of these areas will be made available by house committee and church security. Every door will be opened and inspected by the house committee. Shredding event will be from 10am until 1pm on the 58 th Street Parking Lot and is open to church members and the public. PAPER ONLY! Annual Women s Retreat The Women s Ministry will be celebrating their 15 th Annual Women s Retreat on May 17 th through May 19 th, 2019 at Eden Resort and Suites, Lancaster, Pa. You may register following service in the Tape Room. All women of Mount Carmel and guests, come and join us. Orders for the Women s Retreat T-shirts are being taken each Sunday after service until 3/31/19. The cost is $11 which must be in cash when placing your order. Sizes 2XL 4XL will be an additional $3. 7 Laity Day, 2019 Mount Carmel will be celebrating Laity Day on Sunday, April 28th. The guest preacher is Rev. Dr. Steven Blunt, Pastor of First Baptist Church Mahan Street, Suffolk, VA. Each person is asked to give $50.00 to support several church initiatives. There is a special Laity Day envelope in your offering packet. The colors for the day will be determined by your years at Mt. Carmel: 0-9 Red 0-19 Green Purple Yellow Silver 50 plus Gold You may be as creative as you want in wearing your color.
