ARDMORE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH PRAYER MINISTRY UPDATED FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2016 Lord, remind me that I am to be a Great Commission Christian in a Great Commission church. Remind me that, in Your strength, I am to do whatever it takes to reach out into my community with the transforming power of the gospel. Rainer, Thom S., Autopsy of a Deceased Church: 12 Ways to Keep Yours Alive (Kindle Locations ), B & H Publishing Group. Kindle Edition Lord, teach us to LOVE. Lord, we hear of the shootings and terrorism in our country and around the world. Help us to examine our hearts and to commit ourselves to pray for peace within your world. Help us to be living examples of Christ s love, mercy, grace and peace. The congregations that worship God at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Overbrook that was totally destroyed by fire on Tuesday, August 30 th. J.B. Adams has been pastor of Good Shepherd for the past 16 years and during this time the doors and windows of the church have been flung open to welcome multiple church congregations (five congregations currently worship there each week) and multiple community groups. J.B. encouraged people to love one another and to embrace the uniqueness that is in each one of us as we are made in God s image. A Prayer Vigil on the street corner Tuesday evening made it clear that the community sees Good Shepherd as a light that flows strongly through the community and they want to rebuild on the spot where the current ruins stand. Please pray with them for this miracle. (Note: J.B. Adams is known to our congregation as he was our Parish Associate from February 4, 1992 November 27, 1994.) NEW/UPDATES WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 4, 2016 Joy! The wedding of Tom Pawlowski and Alice Bassan on Sunday, September 4 th. Tom grew up at APC and is the son of Carol Fritz. We share in their joy! Jean Shrader s 100 th birthday is Sunday, September 18 th. If you have not already done so, please sign the birthday poster/card in the church. This card will be delivered to Jean on her birthday along with a little cake from the APC family. (Please also shower her with individual birthday cards as this is a God-given milestone. Cards can be sent to Jean s home: 230 Grays Lane, Haverford, PA ) Praise! Lots of improvements have been in recent weeks to the APC building. A new pitched roof has replaced the flat roof on the Preschool/Office wings of APC. This has been a huge undertaking and Miller Roofing worked tirelessly to get this job completed before the opening of the preschool. Please pray that this will solve our leaking issues of many years. Also ceiling fans are being installed in the preschool and Sunday School rooms and work is being done on the Parish House windows. We thank Building Manager Walter Haenn for his hard work in overseeing all of this for the Building & Grounds Committee.

2 ***** To the Church Triumphant: Bill Toal s father went home to the Lord on Wednesday evening in his sleep. 6 WEST KENSINGTON MINISTRIES is a ministry of the Presbytery of Philadelphia under the leadership of organizing pastor Adan Mairena. The WKM family: Worships Together as they celebrate and mourn life s triumphs and tragedies; are Disciples/Students of Christ who have learned that God is good and they go about sharing God s goodness with others; they Transform themselves with God s help and then help to transform their community by engaging in the relevant issues that affect them. The West Kensington area of Philadelphia has seen much violence this summer.
