3 President s Message PRESIDENT S MESSAGE DECEMBER 2018 Fellow Serrans, Coming off of a cold and snowy week in November, we find ourselves entering into one of the most joyous times of the year. Advent season is a time for us to prepare ourselves for the arrival of our Savior and to celebrate His birth. Although giving to others is a highlight of the season, we often fret over what to purchase, that will please our loved ones. We worry about our holiday decorations, what food we serve, and what parties and events to attend. In the rush of the Christmas season, it can be easy to get distracted and lose focus. By taking a few minute each day to read and reflect about the greatest gift ever given, God s only Son, can we truly grow and enjoy the season of Advent. Filled with festivities, beautiful decorations, lights, and some of the most heartwarming and wonderful songs of the year. It is a time to give thanks to the Virgin Mary for the birth of Jesus. To celebrate, with our friends and family, and to enjoy the season is about to come to a close, and a new year will begin. We wish it to be filled with hope, peace, love and unity. God is giving us a precious gift, so let us open it and have the joy it brings. I wish you all a very happy and blessed Christmas and a prosperous new year. God bless you and your family. 6 Important Notice Just to let everyone know, there will only be one more newsletter which will come out in January The Serra News is going to be on the web at serrakck.org. We can give more content in a timelier manner by putting it on the web. For those who do not own or use a computer a bulletin will be printed carrying a Calendar of events, prayer list, reservation forms for events and possibly the Priests and Seminarians Birthdays, the details are still being worked out. It has long been the intention to put the Newsletter on the web and discontinue the ed version. An will go out to members advising when new issues are available. The Editor 6

Then dinner was served topping off a pleasant evening honoring those Serrans who passed on to the next life, being in the presence of our Lord and the Heavenly Court. 7
