1 Ephesians 4:1 Study Ntes Fr Ephesians (Chapter Fur) Paul being a prisner f the Lrd was in reference t his being jailed fr preaching the truth (Acts 16:16-25, Acts 28:17, II Crinthians 11:23, II Timthy 1:8, Philemn 1:1, and Philemn 1:9; cf. Mark 13:9). The attribute f meekness must be exercised when apprpriate, but sharpness must be used when such is apprpriate t (Titus 1:10-14). The Apstles were given pwer ver the false spirits (Mark 6:7). Christians had t test spirits (I Jhn 4:1-6) and were given by the Hly Ghst an ability t help with such (I Crinthians 12:3-11). Ephesians 4:6 One Gd wh is the Father (Malachi 2:10, Matthew 23:9, Mark 12:32, Jhn 20:15-17, I Timthy 2:5, and James 2:19). The Father is abve all (I Chrnicles 29:11, Jb 33:12, Psalms 95:1-6, Isaiah 40:20-21, Isaiah 55:8-9, Daniel 4:34-35, Acts 16:14-17, and Rmans 11:33-36; cf. Ephesians 4:12 The purpse f the afrementined ffices and gifts were fr the perfecting [καταρτισμός; cmplete furnishing ; Strng s # 2677]f the saints (Ephesians 5:27, Clssians 1:28, and Revelatin 3:1-2). In this understanding, ur lving f ur neighbrs as urselves (Rmans 13:9-10) shuld mtivate ur desire t teach them all (II Timthy 2:24-26). Ephesians 4:26 Anger is dangerus (Prverbs 14:17, Prverbs 15:18, Prverbs 22:24, Prverbs 29:22, Ecclesiastes 7:9, and James 1:19-20). Hwever, this verse shws us we can be angry and nt sin (Jeremiah 15:17, Mark 3:1-6, and Titus 1:7). Yu just have t be able t cntrl that anger (Prverbs 14:29, Prverbs 16:32, and Prverbs 19:11; cf.
