Needed, Church Counters It was recently brought to the attention of the Loyal Council that we are not in compliance with the Book of Discipline in regard to church counters.

The Discipline requires that we have two (unrelated) counters to count, record and deposit. The records are then given to the church Treasurer.

5 Needed, Church Counters It was recently brought to the attention of the Loyal Council that we are not in compliance with the Book of Discipline in regard to church counters. What is a counter, you ask? The function of the counters is to count the offering each Sunday, record the giving and deposit the money in the bank, or lock the deposit in a secure location. The Discipline requires that we have two (unrelated) counters to count, record and deposit. The records are then given to the church Treasurer. The counters cannot be the Financial Secretary or the Treasurer, but two independent individuals. We can have two people hold the position of counter, or we could have a sign-up sheet as we do for readers and ushers. Drop a note in the suggestion box to let us know what you think. This ministry is part of the financial checks and balances to insure proper financial responsibility and accountability. If you are interested in this ministry please contact Pastor Patsy, or Dan. There will be a short training session for anyone interested. We still need 2 more counters to have a minimum of 2 teams.

Sometimes we find ourselves dealing with difficult and challenging seasons when it s not easy to be out and about. Perhaps it s due to the aging process or debilitating illness. Let s remember to always be present with our prayers, phone calls, cards, and visits. We are the body of Christ, members of one another. Loyal United Methodist Church Minutes May 8, 2018 The meeting was called to order at 7:10 by Dave.

Myrna seconded the motion. Motion carried. Financial Report- The beginning balance was 7404.68. There was 6267.33 in deposits and 7816.37 in disbursements leaving an ending balance of 5855.64.

Trustees Report- The mens bathroom in the ed. Unit is just waiting for Zepplins to finish the tiles on the wall. Toilets in the church bathrooms run a little. Old Business- The new copier is here.

On the way to Springfield, Missouri a couple of weeks ago, Dan,, our daughter Beth and I picked up our son Eric at the Dane County Airport in Madison.

!!!! Well, that was until Dan/Dad had heard just about as much of Neil Diamond that he could stand. I like Neil Diamond, but not for 18 hours straight!

My heart holds our time and laughter like a precious treasure! Thanks, Kids!! We saw the St. Louis Arch at nighttime all lit up; it was the first time for Beth and me.

On the way to Springfield, Missouri a couple of weeks ago, Dan,, our daughter Beth and I picked up our son Eric at the Dane County Airport in Madison. When Eric first heard of our road-trip, he told me he d bring his Neil Diamond CD s and we d have music for the entire trip. Yay!!!!! Well, that was until Dan/Dad had heard just about as much of Neil Diamond that he could stand. I like Neil Diamond, but not for 18 hours straight! The four of us laughed and cut-up like there was no tomorrow. We hadn t been all together for four years, and a road-trip was just what we all needed. The countryside was glorious and green and flowers blooming! Our granddaughter Hannah s college graduation was terrific. Her Language Studies professor said that she s a genius in languages, said her Grandma proudly :-). Her dream is to be in the mission field, translating the Bible into the native language. First, she ll spend a year with her Mom in Oregon. Then she ll decide when to go for her Master s degree. Tonight, is the last Confirmation class for this school year, so we re going for ice cream. Seems this is the time of year for endings school, college, confirmation and the beginning for summer jobs and free time. Remember, though, with all the changes in timetables and planning for camp and vacations, don t get so hemmed in with activities that you schedule yourselves right out of time for worship on Sundays. We all need to replenish the spirit within as often as possible. Don t write God out of your schedule, either! We all need to gather together so that we can encourage and lift-up the another, because we re a family of faith, after all. So don t think you can sleep in on Sundays now that it s summer! Jesus put you first when He died for you; you can put Him first for one morning a week. Let the Summer begin! Let your worship continue! Let the Lord be your joy and your strength! See you soon!!!!
