3 WELCOME Baptists for Israel Institute is a school where Baptist students can study the Bible on location in Israel ² Undergraduate Year ² Graduate Year ² Summer Internship ² 2-week service/work teams ² 2-week Seminars ² 2-week Bible Geography Course We are located on a kibbutz (community farm) on the Sea of Galilee. It is designed to give students a short term experience in a foreign country. In addition to the classroom instruction, young people are given the experience of living, volunteering/working, and traveling among the people in Israel in the land of the Bible.

4 DO I HAVE WHAT IT TAKES? Or, do I want to allow the Lord to develop these ualities in me? Flexibility: In life, and especially other countries, things do not always go according to plan. Balance my time well between work and play Love for the Lord Love for the people and country of Israel Perseverance; not looking for the easy road Desire to learn the language and culture Am I willing to work hard...as unto the Lord?

5 WILL IT FIT INTO MY FUTURE GOALS? Baptists for Israel students have found their time with us has helped them get a good start in a wide variety of career choices... SUMMER INTERNSHIPS: Gain valuable cross - cultural experience/credit in a few short weeks. YEAR INTERNSHIPS: Depending on your choice of major, and your graduating school, many of your credits may transfer. Check with your school s registrar. MASTER S DEGREE: A studies abroad program looks good on any resume.

6 WILL IT FIT MY BUDGET? You will find that our prices are very reasonable and even include your room, board and international airfare from NY. Because our emphasis is on service/work, we encourage our students to raise funds from congregations and individuals (with the exception of tuition). Pell Grants are possible IF: 1) The school you are attending right now will declare Baptists for Israel Institute as an "off-campus training center" for their school. 2) You would need to declare that you will return to your current school to finish your degree. In other words, this grant will reuire the cooperation of your current school. Baptists for Israel Institute has worked with Piedmont Baptist College, Cedarville University, and Western Baptist Bible College in this way in the past. The grant money would go to your current school, they would then possibly keep a portion of it to keep you enrolled and then send the rest to Baptists for Israel. The president of Baptists for Israel, Rev. Bradley Brough, would be willing to discuss this with your school administration if needed.

7 WILL I BE SAFE? The safety situation on the kibbutz has never been a problem. In Israel we believe we can avoid the problem areas. We know where not to go. We also know how to avoid crowds and busy buses. We have our own vans for transportation. While in Israel, you will be encouraged to set up good communication between loved ones in the USA and yourself. The student house is euipped with Wi-Fi and you are encouraged to bring your laptops and smartphones to stay in touch with your USA friends and family while in Israel. Parents will also be able to call you as there is a receiving phone in the student house. There is no place on this earth that is perfectly safe. The safest place to be But we found is in the center of God s will. Shadrach, Mechech, and Abednego were safer in the fiery furnace WITH the LORD than they would have been in their parents home WITHOUT Him.
