3 Resurrection is Not Uncommon to the Bible 1. Elijah raised the son of the Zarephath widow from the dead (1 Kings 17:17-22). 2. Elisha raised the son of the Shunammite woman from the dead (2 Kings 4:32-35). 3. A man was raised from the dead when his body touched Elisha s bones (2 Kings 13:20, 21). 4. Many saints rose from the dead at the resurrection of Jesus (Matt. 27:50-53). 5. Jesus rose from the dead (Matt. 28:5-8; Mark 16:6; Luke 24:5, 6). 6. Jesus raised the son of the widow of Nain from the dead (Luke 7:11-15). 7. Jesus raised the daughter of Jairus from the dead (Luke 8:41, 42, 49-55). 8. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead (John 11:1-44). 9. Peter raised Dorcas from the dead (Acts 9:36-41). 10. Eutychus was raised from the dead by Paul (Acts 20:9, 10). J. L. 5 Jesus Told the Disciples Raise the Dead! Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give.

6 Jesus Gave Prophecies Matthew 16: From that time Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised up on the third day. 22 Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, God forbid it, Lord! This shall never happen to You.

7 Jesus Gave Prophecies Matthew 17:9 As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.

8 Jesus Gave Prophecies Matthew 17: And while they were gathering together in Galilee, Jesus said to them, The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men; 23 and they will kill Him, and He will be raised on the third day. And they were deeply grieved.

9 Jesus Gave Prophecies Matthew 20: As Jesus was about to go up to Jerusalem, He took the twelve disciples aside by themselves, and on the way He said to them, 18 Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death, 19 and will hand Him over to the Gentiles to mock and scourge and crucify Him, and on the third day He will be raised up.

10 Jesus Gave Prophecies Luke 24: Now He said to them, These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled. 45 Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, 46 and He said to them, Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things.

11 What Does A Witness Do?

12 Angels Gave Testimony Luke 24:5-7 5 Why do you seek the living One among the dead? 6 He is not here, but He has risen. Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee, 7 saying that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

13 Peter Gave Testimony Acts 2:24 God raised Him up again Acts 2: he (David) looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that HE WAS NEITHER ABANDONED TO HADES, NOR DID His flesh SUFFER DECAY. (Psalm 16:10; repeated in 13:35) 32 This Jesus God raised up again, to which we are all witnesses.

14 Paul Gave Testimony Acts 13: When they had carried out all that was written concerning Him, they took Him down from the cross and laid Him in a tomb. 30 But God raised Him from the dead; 31 and for many days He appeared to those who came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, the very ones who are now His witnesses to the people. 32 And we preach to you the good news of the promise made to the fathers, 33 that God has fulfilled this promise to our children in that He raised up Jesus,

15 The Resurrection is Real, Therefore Proof: Acts 17: Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent, 31 because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead.

16 The Resurrection is Real, Therefore Open Door Opportunity: Colossians 4:3 praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned;

17 The Resurrection is Real, Therefore How to Respond: Romans 10:8-9 8 But what does it say? THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, 9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;

18 The Resurrection is Real, Therefore Blessing for Believing: John 20:29 Jesus said to him (Thomas), Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed.
