The Gospel and the Old Testament I want to be baptised What do I do? 1
Old Testament Adam and Eve Noah and the Flood Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph & Israelites in Egypt Moses & the wilderness journey The Promised Land Kings Saul, David, Solomon Rehoboam, Jeroboam Prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel New Testament John the Baptist Jesus Christ Birth, Baptism, Ministry, Teaching, Death, Resurrection, Ascension to heaven, His Promised return Apostles Peter, James, John, Paul The Gospel of the Kingdom of God 2
Baptism Service Do you believe the things concerning the Kingdom of God and the Name of Jesus Christ? Acts chap 8 (ESV) 35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this scripture he told him the good news of Jesus. 36 And as they went along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, "See, here is water! What is to prevent my being baptized?" 37 (AV) I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. 38 And he commanded the chariot to stop, and they both went down into the water, Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him. 3
Acts chap 2 (ESV) 36 Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lordand Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified. 38 And Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, 41 So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls. Why the difference? We are Gentiles They were Jews 4
Acts chap 8 (ESV) 12 But when they believed Philip as he preached good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Acts chap 8 (ESV) 12 But when they believed Philip as he preached good news about the kingdom of Godand the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. 5
Matt chap 9 (ESV) 35 And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. Mark chap 1 (ESV) 14 Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, 15 and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel. Luke chap 4 (ESV) 43 but he said to them, I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns as well; for I was sent for this purpose. In the (AV) four Gospel records contain over one hundred refs to the Kingdom of God 6
Luke chap 8 (ESV) 1 Soon afterward he went on through cities and villages, proclaiming and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him, The word Gospel means good news Luke chap 9 (ESV) 1 And he called the twelve together - 2 and he sent themout to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal. 6 And they departed and went through the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere. 7
Acts chap 1 (ESV) 3 To them he presented himself alive after his suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God. Mark chap 16 (ESV) 15 And he said to them, Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 8
Acts chap 8 (ESV) 12 But when they believed Philip as he preached good news about the kingdom of Godand the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Why the difference? We are Gentiles They were Jews 9
Acts chap 28 (ESV) 23 When they had appointed a day for him, they came to him at his lodging in greater numbers. From morning till evening he expounded to them, testifying to the kingdom of God and trying to convince them about Jesus Acts chap 28 (ESV) 23 When they had appointed a day for him, they came to him at his lodging in greater numbers. From morning till evening he expounded to them, testifying to the kingdom of God and trying to convince them about Jesus both from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets. 10
Acts chap 26 (ESV) 28 And Agrippa said to Paul, In a short time would you persuade me to be a Christian? 6 And now I stand here on trial because of my hope in the promise made by God to our fathers, 7 to which our twelve tribes hope to attain, as they earnestly worship night and day. And for this hope I am accused by Jews, O king! Galations chap 3 (ESV) 16 Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say, And to offsprings, referring to many, but referring to one, And to your offspring, who is Christ. 11
Luke chap 24 (ESV) 27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. 44 Then he said to them, These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophetsand the Psalms must be fulfilled. Acts chap 8 (ESV) 35 Then Philip opened his mouth, - and told him the good news of Jesus. 12
