Lahore Tops As The Most Popular City and Reinforces The View Lahore Lahore Hai! : GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN Islamabad, February 15, 2011 According to a Gilani Research Foundation survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, Lahore turns out to be the most liked city of the country and most people would choose to settle down in this city. In a survey, a nationally representative sample of men and women from across the country were asked the following question: In which city will you personally like to live in? Twenty three percent (23%) chose Lahore to reside in, followed by 1 who opted for Islamabad and 13% for Karachi. 7% mentioned their desire to settle in Faisalabad, in Peshawar and in Multan. 28% gave other responses. In another question the respondents were asked about their favourite city and similar responses were generated. A detailed analysis of the survey revealed that majority in the metropolitan cities preferred to live in their own respective city; Lahore (8), Karachi (8) and Islamabad (8). 3 The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2738 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during January Error margin is estimated to be approximately per cent at 9 confidence level. Gallup Pakistan proposes that its poll results be attributed as Gilani Poll conducted by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.
