1 Summary of Friday Sermon April 20, 2018 The following summary is not a replacement for the Friday Sermon of Hazrat Khalifatul- Masih (aa). It only covers selective points. Kindly, take the time to listen to the Friday Sermon to fully benefit from the blessed guidance of Huzoor Anwar (aa). Hazrat Khalifatul-Masih V (may Allah be his Helper) delivered the Friday Sermon today at Masjid Basharat, Pedro Abad Spain. After reciting Tashahud and Surah Al-Fatihah, Huzoor Anwar recited chapter 41 verse 34, the translation of which is as follows: And who is better in speech than he who invites men to Allah and does good works and says, I am surely of those who submit? This verse is a perfect example and contains all the characteristics becoming of a Muslim. It mentions three characteristics, which if present create a revolution, both individually and in society. They are: Dawat illallah [calling to Allah], good works, and complete obedience. The first characteristic draws a believer towards acquiring knowledge and then to disseminate that knowledge in the world. This can only happen when there is true and genuine concern for others.the second characteristic is rendering good works; that is to pay heed to giving the rights of God and His people, and to become a model in this regard. The third characteristic is that a real believer proclaims that he is completely obedient; he acts upon the commandments of Allah and the Holy Prophet sa. While, Dawat illallah [Tabligh] is a good work, but perfect obedience is also very crucial. It is also crucial to remain attached to this community, established by God Almighty. For us Ahmadis, high standards of obedience will only be established and success in Tabligh work will only be achieved when there is obedience to Khilafat, as well as obedience to the Nizam (system) under Khilafat; only when every individual, every office-bearer, every worker and every Murabbi is obedient to the Nizam-e-Jama at. Objectives of the Promised Messiah as [for which he was sent] were fulfilled in his lifetime. They also continued after his life, and later to this day. God Almighty always fulfills the objectives for which He sends His prophets, as He states: ی ل س ر و ا ن ا ن ب ل غ لا الله ب ت ک. This revelation was also received many times by the Promised Messiah as. Commenting on this verse, the Promised Messiah as said that it is the practice of God since the dawn of man, that He helps His prophets and messengers... as God has stated that He has decreed, from the start as His Sunnah [lawful practice] that His messengers will succeed. I am His messenger, however, without a new Shariah... Therefore, just as the meaning of this verse has always proven true from Adam till now, so it will prove true now. Huzoor Anwar said that the plant which Allah wishes to sow in the world, through the Promised Messiah as, is the Shariah brought by the Holy Prophet sa. And this seed of completing the propagation of Islam was planted by God Almighty, through the Promised Messiah; and through

2 the system of Khilafat, the seeds planted by the Promised Messiah spread forth to other parts of the world. And in this way, the world is being drawn in towards the beautiful teachings of Islam. Through the Promised Messiah, the message of Islam has to spread, and is continuing to do so. God Almighty, revealed to him: ی ن ص ر ک م الله ف ی دینی ا و رینصرک الله م ن ع ن د ه I shall grant you fame and honour to the ends of the Earth I shall cause thy message to reach the corners of the Earth No doubt, the message of the Promised Messiah has spread to the ends of the Earth, and is doing so through the MTA. In reality, at this stage we do not have such means as to be able to run a channel and a 24-hour channel at that, and to have programs reach every corner of the world in different languages; through my sermons and through various programs, people are entering the fold of Ahmadiyyat. All this is happening as a result of the promises of Allah given to the Promised Messiah. These are the works of Allah and His promises; they will continue to be fulfilled, Insha Allah! However, God says a believer must do Dawat illallah. This is for our own rewards. It is a means of acquiring the pleasure of Allah. Therefore, take the time to do Tabligh, atleast, once a week. And find avenues of doing Tabligh, in view of the psychology of the people. Huzoor Anwar gave various guidelines to the members of Spain Jama at on Tabligh, and said that Khuddam, Ansar and Lajna should give particular attention towards Tabligh. Introduction of the Jama at is reaching in Spain. There is media coverage. It there is any shortcoming in conveying the message, it is because of us. Huzoor Anwar said that he sends graduating classes of Jamia Ahmadiyya UK and Germany here to distribute literature. To date, approximately 3 million leaflets have been distributed. Huzoor Anwar said that the people of Spain are more receptive towards our literature and actually read it. Thus, he said, they should make plans according to the situation there. Huzoor said it is necessary to realize the work of doing Tabligh and calling towards Allah has been given by Allah to every believer; and we have to fulfill this task. For this, we must have a sense of true concern and pain. First and foremost, this is the work of the Murabbiyan. They should find new avenues and take the lead. Huzoor Anwar said, there is a need of mutual cooperation. There is a need to think beyond the personal level, and only think of the benefits of the Jama at. The Promised Messiah said that I have been sent to re-establish the lost glory of the Holy Prophet as and to illustrate the verities of the Holy Qur an upon the world. The Promised Messiah said that if you wish to extend your life, start occupying yourself in doing Tabligh. If a person wants to have a long life, he should look to serve faith, as much as possible. One cannot deceive Allah; rather, one only deceives himself. As such, there is no better way of

3 extending one s life than serving one s faith. In this age, this is very relevant, as there is a great need of those who serve faith. The Holy Prophet sa advised Hazrat Ali that: by God, even if one person was guided through you, it is better for you than acquiring red camels. The wealth and materials of this world hold no value in comparison to doing Tabligh for Allah. Tabligh also increases knowledge. The Holy Prophet sa has said that whoever calls towards goodness, gets the same reward as the person doing it, while the person who does it does not have anything diminished from his reward. Those who do Tabligh get the rewards of this world as well. Thus, give time for the guidance of the world. The Promised Messiah says that: time is very limited... I constantly remind... no youth should think that he has lots of time... in fact, this is the last age now it is time to show true sincerity. This is the age in which the prophecies of all earlier prophets reach and end. It is not enough to make mere verbal claims. Do not be sluggish and lazy, rather become active. The part Our Teachings from Noah s Ark should be read by every Ahmadi. The Promised Messiah has said, people believe in the Kalima, offer Prayers, observe fast, however, they are devoid of true spirituality and do not render good works. Their works are superficial and mere customary. On the contrary, Allah looks at the spirit behind them and true spirituality, rather than mere outward actions. God is not pleased until there is true sincerity; such works of show and display are of no benefit. The Promised Messiah says, actions have an effect on one s beliefs. So, our Jama at should render good works in abundance. Otherwise, what benefit is there, if they remain like others. Huzoor Anwar said that good works will only be done when they are done with complete obedience. Also remember that unnecessary complaints against the Nizam also removes one from faith and from Khilafat. May Allah enable us to become part of the propagation and victory of the message of the Promised Messiah and enable us to continue doing Tabligh with prayers! And may He enable us to fulfill rights of Allah and mankind, and all our works are done to attain the pleasure of Allah! If we pay attention to these things, then we will see the victory of Islam, as per the promises of Allah.

4 National Majlis Shura National Majlis Shura of Canada Jama`at starts tomorrow for two days in Baitul Islam Mosque, Maple, Ontario. Therefore, a brief introduction of Shura in Islam is presented: Importance of Shura: Institution of Mushawarat or Shura is unique in Islam. It is different from all other consultative systems. It is binding on Muslim leadership to consult in all important matters. It is the most important institution in Islam after the institution of Khilafat. Hadhrat Umar (ra) said: There is no Khilafat without consultation. Shura as Practiced by the Holy Prophet (sa): The Holy Prophet (sa) used to consult his companions in all important matters. It was despite the fact that he was guided by Allah. If anyone would not need consultation, it would be him, the Holy Prophet (sa). Hazrat Abu Hurairah (ra) related: Of all the people, the Holy Prophet (sa) was the most consulting person. Thus, holding of consultations is a basic injunction in Islam and it is binding on all Muslim religious and temporal leadership. [42:39] But, it is not a parliament, in the sense the word is understood in the west; consultation is necessary but it is not necessary that the advice tendered must be accepted. [3:160] System of Shura in the Jama`at: 1. It is the right of Hazrat Khalifatul-Masih aa to ask for advice 2. He may ask for it, whenever advice is needed 3. Normally once a year, National Shura is held 4. Special Shura may be called any time 5. Delegates are elected for one year or till new delegates are elected 6. The advice may be accepted, or it may be rejected. May Allah enable us to benefit fully from the blessed System of Shura!
