1 JIM MCCAULEY COUNTY CLERK-RECORDER-REGISTRAR OF VOTERS RYAN RONCO ASSISTANT RECORDER-REGISTRAR 2956 RICHARDSON DRIVE AUBURN, CA MAILING ADDRESS: P.O. BOX 5278 AUBURN, CA PLACER COUNTY CLERK-RECORDER-ELECTIONS For Release: immediate release PRESS RELEASE PRESS RELEASE PRESS RELEASE From: Jim McCauley, Placer County Clerk-Recorder-Registrar of Voters To: All News Media Date: July 22, 2008 Subject: Offices still open Contact: Lisa Zacharias or Ferrin Call Telephone: (530) Fax: (530) Candidate filing for the Presidential General Election to be held November 4, 2008 began on July 14, Every general election, dozens of people are appointed to local district boards because there are not enough people who file for office. There are still several local offices that will not appear on the November ballot if additional individuals do not file. You have until August 8, 2008 (or August 13, 2008 if an incumbent does not file) to file for local office and make a difference in your community. If you would like to have a say in what happens to your community, filing for office is the perfect opportunity to do so. Give voters a choice in who will be making the decisions that affect them, instead of the board appointing someone for you. The offices affected* are: VOTERS WILL VOTE FOR OFFICES SHORT TERM FULL TERM COUNTY BOARDS OF EDUCATION Placer County Board of Education (Placer County only) Trustee Area (Shared with El Dorado and Nevada Counties; Placer is lead county) Trustee Area (Placer County only) Sutter County Board of Education Trustee Area Elections Division: (530) or toll free in California (800) Website Address: election@placer.ca.gov
