7 Page 3 CALIFORNIA SOCIETY, SAR EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT 2010 ANNUAL REPORT Gentlemen: It has been a privilege serving this past year as the Society s executive vice president. I enjoyed assisting President Carlson and extend my heartfelt gratitude to him and other members of the executive committee. Their tireless contributions on behalf of this Society are truly astounding. I support them and am convinced we will continue to move forward over the years to come. I am grateful to you for your kind hospitality. Whether meeting in coffee shops or private homes, restaurants or community halls, every moment has resulted in a lasting memory. I appreciated your comments and have gained insight from your trials and tribulations. I have rejoiced with many of you in success, worked hard with others to overcome obstacles, and have grieved with all of you at the passing of beloved friends. Through it all, I am especially pleased by your continued, faithful service. I am encouraged by your unceasing do-or-die attitudes that are truly reminiscent of your patriot ancestors. The lists below constitute a record of my collective activities over the past 12 months. Though they are not exhaustive, they do provide a glimpse into my commitment to the patriotic, historical, and educational endeavors that epitomize this great Society. CALIFORNIA SOCIETY, SAR, CHAPTER ACTIVITIES, COMMUNITY SERVICE All Veterans Stand Down, Grass Valley Americanism Elementary School Poster Classroom Presentations, various Americanism Brochure Contest Planning Sessions & Promotion at NSSAR events California Society, SAR representative at Wreaths Across America Ceremony, State Capitol Building, Sacramento Chief Solano Chapter, DAR, Fairfield Cub Scout Jamboree, Nevada City Delivery of President General s Wreaths Across America Proclamation at National Veterans Cemetery, Dixon Delta Chapter, Ripon Fundraiser - Inspector of Elections, Placer County Elections Division, past 5 years Genealogy Symposium, Placerville General George Washington Chapter, Chico NATIONAL SOCIETY, SAR, COMMITTEES, PROJECTS, AND SERVICE Chairman, Internet Advertising Committee Chairman, Traveling Museum Project Vice Chairman, Newsletters & Periodicals Committee Vice Chairman, Publicity & Public Relations Committee Gold Country Chapter, Auburn Historic Flag Presentations, various Meetings with chapter presidents and officers for problem solving, planning, and goal setting, various Mother Lode Chapter, Cameron Park Nevada Society, DAR 100th Anniversary, Carson City Parades Memorial Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day Sacramento Chapter Community Awards Program, Sacramento San Francisco Sons of Revolutionary Sires Plaque Dedication, SF San Francisco Presidio Proclamation, SF Thomas Jefferson Chapter, Concord 2009 Spring Meeting of the Membership 2009 Fall Board of Managers Meeting Jamison Bates funeral service Vice Chairman, Task force for Public Relations Member, SAR Museum Committee Member, SAR Museum Board Member, George Washington Endowment Fund Committee Executive Vice President Wayne A. The above cannot be accomplished during the term of a single president. Therefore, I am calling a strategic planning meeting of the executive committee to identify goals and to develop a plan for achieving them. See future editions of the California Compatriot for more details and attend the 2010 Fall Board of Managers Meeting in November. Fraternally yours, Executive Vice President Wayne A. Griswold Sr
