In this survey, students will gain an understanding f the imprtance f the majr texts and practices, histrical trajectries, and key terms and cncepts f these traditins. We will pay clse attentin t hw these religins present their fundatinal cncepts, majr figures, the human cnditin, and ultimate reality. Surce materials fr this curse include primary and secndary texts, films, websites, pdcasts, and lectures. By means f the study f these traditins, students will cnsider the meaning f the term religin as it may apply t the varius wrldviews encuntered, as well as further the develpment f writing, analytical, interpretatin, and critical thinking skills. Curse Objectives: It is expected that by the end f the curse students will have achieved the fllwing: 1. increased religius literacy s as t have greater knwledge f, awareness abut, and respect fr these religius traditins; 2. ability t examine the cntext f these traditins and learn the varius human factrs that influenced their creatin/ change; 3. ability t read, analyze, and discuss surce materials t identify and evaluate main pints, supprting evidence, and perspectives. 4. increased facility t successfully cmmunicate curse knwledge in ral and written frm.
