2 SCRIPTURE REFLECTION Colossians 1:13-14; Hebrews 1:3-4 [God] has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. And after making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs. There s an anchor for my soul. I can say, It is well. Jesus has overcome and the grave is overwhelmed. The victory is won; he is risen from the dead. And I will rise when he calls my name, no more sorrow, no more pain. I will rise on eagle s wings, before my God fall on my knees, and rise. There s a day that s drawing near when this darkness breaks to light, and the shadows disappear and my faith shall be my eyes. And I hear the voice of many angels sing, Worthy is the Lamb! 4 SERMON Isaiah s Easter Prophecy Dr. Mike Rasmussen Isaiah 25 is found on page 586 in the ESV Bibles. Senior Pastor CELEBRATION OF THE LORD S SUPPER The communion bread is gluten-free. We serve wine during communion. If you prefer grape juice, please take a purple cup at the center of the tray. We come forward for communion. This meal is open to every shepherded sheep of Jesus Christ; that is, to every communing member in good standing of any Bible-believing church. Please allow the outer seating sections to be served first and then the two center sections will be served. After you receive the elements, you can either take them immediately, or return to your seat to pray, confess, and meditate, taking the elements when you are ready. Feel free to sing along as the musicians lead us, or to silently commune with the Lord. SILENT CONFESSION WORDS OF ASSURANCE selections from 1 Corinthians 15 I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to many. Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 6 SCRIPTURE REFLECTION Isaiah 25:6-9 On this mountain the LORD of hosts will make for all peoples a feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wines, of rich food filled with marrow, of well-aged wines strained clear. And he will destroy on this mountain the shroud that is cast over all peoples, the sheet that is spread over all nations; he will swallow up death forever. Then the LORD God will wipe away the tears from all faces, and the disgrace of his people he will take away from all the earth, for the LORD has spoken. It will be said on that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, so that he might save us. This is the LORD for whom we have waited; let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation. 9 TRINITY UPCOMING EVENTS SUNDAY, APRIL 16, 2017 TASTE OF TRINITY: Our next Taste of Trinity will take place on Sunday, April 23 from 12:15 p.m.to 1:30 p.m. Taste of Trinity is all about introducing you to the heart of Trinity Church. It s a fun, low-key lunch that provides your family with an easy way to investigate Trinity Church and discover a place to meet people, embark on or grow in your spiritual journey and answer the call of your heart to serve your community. Taste of Trinity is for visitors and regular attenders whether you ve come to one service or for years. It is designed for those in our community who are curious to know more about the ministry of Trinity. If you are wondering whether Trinity might be your church home, Taste of Trinity is the place to start. Our hope is that this first taste will whet your appetite to get connected at Trinity through our Intro to TPC Class. You can register by clicking on the Taste of Trinity banner on our website or see one of your helpful greeters at the Information Center who will help sign you up. Childcare will be provided, just list your children during registration. JAPAN MISSION TRIP INFORMATION MEETING: We will have another informational meeting for the Japan trip on Sunday, April 23 from 4:45pm to 5:15pm in Room 230. Come to find out more about how you can participate in this 10-day trip, from Oct , to support Trinity missionary partners as well as other missionaries and pastors working all over Japan while they attend the bi-annual Church Planting Institute Conference. Our team will be working with other PCA churches to provide a high quality VBS for the children of the conference participants, as well as background logistical support to the conference. Adults and mature youth ages 15 and older are invited to learn more. INTRO TO TPC CLASS: The next Intro to TPC class will be Saturday, May 20 (with a continental breakfast) from 8:30 a.m. Noon. This class is for anyone who is interested in joining the church or wants to find out more about what we believe and practice here at Trinity. You can register by clicking on the Intro to TPC banner on our website or see one of your helpful greeters at the Information Center who will help sign you up.
