1 EUROPEAN HERITAGE POLICY CONFERENCE CULTURAL HERITAGE FOR EUROPE, EUROPE FOR CULTURAL HERITAGE 5 December 2013 Bibliothèque Solvay, Brussels (winner of a EU Prize for Cultural Heritage/Europa Nostra Award in 2012 ) in cooperation with with the support of the Culture Programme of the European Union in partnership with ENCATC, Heritage EuropeEuropean Association of Historic Towns and Regions, the International Cultural Centre, the Raymond Lemaire International Centre for Conservation and The Heritage Alliance Brussels_

GOALS OF THE POLICY CONFERENCE A) MAIN GOALS Seize the opportunity of the 50 th anniversary of Europa Nostra to further raise the profile of cultural heritage in Europe; Contribute to the development of a future EU policy and funding strategy for cultural heritage; Demonstrate the huge value and relevance of cultural heritage for Europe s society, economy and environment; Launch the European project Cultural Heritage Counts for Europe ; Give visibility to the New Narrative for Europe initiative; Report on the 7 Most Endangered programme and the experts visits on the sites; Give visibility to the ENtopia Our places in Europe programme; Showcase a number of exemplary stories and facts/figures on the multiple benefits of cultural heritage; Reach out to the European authorities and institutions, as well as public sector, corporate sector, citizens and civil society organisations working in the wider field of cultural heritage from local and regional to national and European levels. B) ADDITIONAL GOALS Expand the EN network of partners and contacts among European decision and policymakers; Contribute to the ever stronger positioning and recognition of Europa Nostra as the leading European advocacy organisation with regard to cultural heritage; C) GENERAL GOALS OF EN CONGRESSES Demonstrate the diversity and vibrancy of Europe s civil society actors (both professionals and volunteers) in the field of heritage (built and natural, tangible and intangible); Provide a dynamic and interactive platform for exchanges of best practices, and also of concerns, for members of Europa Nostra and other interested public.
