Theology, Art and Imagination The Saint John s Bible Saturday, October 1, 8:30 a.m. 1 p.m. Loyola University Museum of Art, Chicago Theology and art have a long, complicated history from the prohibition of graven images to the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel and the mixed presentations of religious themes in contemporary art. At the deepest level theology and art are united in their quest to express the inexpressible to portray what we see but also help us imagine something more: beauty, meaning, reality, the sacred. The Saint John s Bible is the fruit of a marriage of theology and art, a conscious effort to let art open our imagination to the meaning of Scripture and the presence of God in our lives. Dr. William J. Cahoy will explore some of the theological ideas behind the Saint John s Bible and experience its art as a way into the Word of God. Register early. Space is limited. For more information visit the website at or call Perspectives on Eucharist and Catholicism- October 1, 9 a.m. 3:00 p.m. Mayslake Ministries, Lombard Mayslake Ministries is pleased to present a day with Fr. Robert Barron who will offer inspiring insights into the mystery of Christ s Eucharistic presence.
