Our Church The weekly pulpit ministry: that Christ would be proclaimed as our only comfort in life and in death. For the leadership of CPC: that they may be granted humility, wisdom, and love in the task given to them. Our witness to the community: that we might bring more people in who do not know Christ, and be a light in this dark world. The effectiveness and growth of our regular ministries (prayer group, Bible studies, Sunday School, etc). For Sung Yoo and Hannah Palmieri s engagement and upcoming wedding. Our sister Fran Mejeur, for comfort and clarity in her declining health. Jillian Noe requests prayers for safety, health, travel, and effective outreach as she and a MTW team go to Trinidad from January 20th-27th. For expectant mother Sarah Marcotte. For Jackie Vedders and Gayle Post as they recover from recent surgeries. Pray for the MacQuarrie family as Rod searches for a new job. Please pray for the Holy Spirit s work to regenerate and/or rescue our lost or wandering loved ones. Continue to pray for our friends Meg and John Wonser as they are away from us for the winter. Noah Taylor as he is away at college and all other students who are with us while they study at KVCC or WMU. The Wider Church Redeemer OPC, Ada, MI. Pastor John Currie (Rhonda) For our missionary families: The Westervelds in Quebec, the Hopps in Haiti, the Johnsons in Thailand, the Jeromins in South America, and the Boris family in Kazakhstan. For the Bible Study meeting at Calvin College led by the Noes and Klopfensteins, that many students would be drawn to this ministry, and that it might flourish into a church plant in the near future. For our Christian brothers and sisters facing persecution around the world: Eritrea, North Korea, Iraq, Iran, Egypt, China, India, Pakistan, Myanmar, and many other countries. The World For those affected by the mudslides in Santa Barbara, California. For the protection of religious liberty as Masterpiece Cake shop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission is taken up by the Supreme Court in the months ahead. Pray for peace and a stop to the senseless violence in our land. Pray for reconciliation and unity in our nation. Our President and all elected officials. 6

8 ANNOUNCEMENTS Welcome to our visitors! We are so pleased to have you with us and hope you are refreshed and encouraged by the good news of the gospel! Join us for Sunday School after worship. We have classes for all ages. Pastor Cruse will lead the adult class in a discussion on the attributes of a true church. Women s Bible study is this Tuesday at the church! 7PM Presbytery Youth Gathering--SIGN UPS DUE: The annual presbytery youth event for 7th-12th graders is scheduled for February 10th. We will again be meeting at the 3 Mile Project in Grand Rapids, MI from 10am-4pm. Pastor Cruse will challenge us from Philippians 3:1-11 on Knowing Christ. Registration is $15 (or $20 late) and is due by January 29th. The 3MP has reball, athletic courts, skate park, game room, video game stations and more. Pastor Cruse will also be the speaker for the College and Career Winter Ski Retreat in Bellaire, MI. Feb 23-25, speaking on the topic of anxiety. More information to follow.
