3 WE PROCLAIM GOD S WORD PRAYER OF INTERCESSION (For reconciliation) We pray today for reconciliation with someone who has been estranged from us. Perhaps this person is a son, or a daughter, or a parent, or an in-law, or a brother, or a sister, or a former friend, or a fellow church member, or a neighbor. Perhaps this estrangement was caused by an insult, or a financial matter, or a lifestyle issue, or by a personality clash, or even by a political disagreement. Enable us, Lord, by the transforming power of your Holy Spirit, to be able simply to agree to disagree, to be able to distinguish between the important and the trivial; to be able to set aside jealousy; to be able to grant forgiveness and to accept forgiveness. May we who have received your grace be willing to extend that grace to others. May we who have been forgiven be willing in turn to forgive. May we who have wandered be willing to accept the wanderer. 5 ANNOUNCEMENTS AND MEETINGS Leading us in worship today is Reverend Nolan E. Williams, Jr. A fourth-generation ordained Baptist preacher and musicmajor alumnus of Oberlin College, the world of the Reverend Nolan E. Williams, Jr. is one where faith and the arts converge. It is also a world that finds Williams equally at home in a production studio, a church pulpit, or on a conductor s podium. In pursuit of this broad range of creative expression Williams has founded a company aptly named NEWorks ( NEW works ) Productions; altogether, Williams and NEWorks have over the course of 20+ years developed inspirational music and programming in collaboration with some of the premiere artists, cultural institutions, and humanitarian organizations of our time. Thank you: The Scouts, parents, and adult leaders of Pack 24 and Troop 24 would like to thank the Northminster Presbyterian Church Family for their support of this past weekend's activities and the use of the social hall. The Pack 24 held a successful Blue and Gold Banquet during the evening of February 4, 2017, and both Pack 24 and Troop 24 held a fulfilling Scout Sunday service and bake sale on February 5, The Scouts look forward to the next keynote events in 2018! A Congregational Meeting is called for today, Sunday, February 12, 2017, immediately following the morning service, to hear a report of the church finances and our plans in this transition period. WORSHIP COMMITTEE will meet on February 19 immediately following worship service. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Worship Committee or have ideas you'd like the committee to explore, please let Rev. Acker or one of the committee members know. The Board of Elders meets on the second Tuesday of every month. The Community Biblical Dialogue holds explorations of spiritual disciplines every second Saturday of the month from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m. in the Library. This year's discussion will be on the Letters of Paul. We hope to see you there. Bring a friend. The children s Church Teachers meet every first Sunday in the Church Library immediately following Sunday service.

6 Bible study class for adults meets Sunday mornings, 9:30 10:55 am, in the church library (Room 203). Sunday school for students ages 3-15, meets on 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sundays from 11:15am to 12:45pm. 7 NORTHMINSTER PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH MINISTRY DIVISIONS The Session of Northminster Presbyterian Church is organized into four ministry divisions: The Administrative Division oversees the Budget, Finance and Fund Raising activities of the Church. In addition, this Division is responsible for nominating new officers (Elders and Deacons) and coordinating Trustee and Deacon Activities. The Administrative Division meets on the first Sunday of the month after church. The Communication Division coordinates Northminster s Worship & Music, Christian Education, Mission, and Social Witness activities. The Communication Division meets on the second Sunday of the month after church. The Stewardship Division directs the Stewardship activities of the Church and is responsible for Personnel matters. The Division meets after church on the third Sunday of each month. The New and Current Membership Division oversees Northminster s Fellowship and Evangelism activities and coordinates the continuing nurture of our members. The Membership Division meets on the fourth Sunday of each month after church. All ministry Division meetings are open (unless otherwise stated) and we want to hear from you.
