2 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world. James 1:27 Thankfully, the PCA mercy ministry movement is growing. The Lord is blessing the ministry with success in some of the most challenging communities in North America. We offer this small directory with the hope that it will provide resources that encourage further growth in ministry. Please contact MNA if you have additions and/or corrections to this directory. Some of the ministries listed here have only very informal ties with PCA churches or presbyteries, or are independent ministries in which PCA people participate. Therefore, although not all of the ministries included in this handbook are necessarily endorsed by the Mission to North America (MNA) or by churches or presbyteries of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), the purpose of this handbook is to identify the leading mercy ministries closely associated with the PCA. This enables those who wish to initiate new ministries to contact the ones who have gone before, and provides profitable resources for those currently involved in mercy ministries. MNA invites the churches of the PCA to participate in the annual Thanksgiving Offering. The offering is used primarily to provide scholarship funds for men and women who are training to become leaders in mercy ministries and who are unable to find sufficient support readily from other sources. Please encourage participation in the Thanksgiving Offering so that greater resources may be available to respond to this significant opportunity. Three books are highly recommended. Please contact MNA if you are not able to obtain them locally: Restorers of Hope by Amy L. Sherman Ministries of Mercy by Timothy J. Keller The Church of Irresistible Influence by Robert Lewis
