Dear Friends, LCM began serving our community in 1997. What an amazing 20 years! This year it became evident the time had come to realign our mission statement to better reflect Lighthouse s purpose.

As we prayed and looked at our ministry we were guided by Matthew 5:17 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. As a result of many prayerful hours, our new mission statement is: Building relationships through service, to shine Christ s love and hope in our community. We believe we were all made to love and to serve. Through serving with one another we build relationships and are able to shine Christ in our community has been another year of growth. Our food ministries have expanded and through the expansion of our pantry we can provide frozen meat and fresh dairy products. A new monthly mobile food distribution was brought to the residents of San Leon. Bayview dental clinic was officially launched and began seeing patients regularly in We introduced a new Faith and Finances class to our community. These new expansions of existing programs align with and strengthen our mission. While it is exciting to grow and bring new services to the community, it means nothing if we lose focus on why we do what we do. If lives are not being transformed through Christ s redeeming love then we are not answering our call. Every day I see transformation as I see God at work. It is evident in my life, the lives of those who serve with us and in the lives of those who think they just need food, dental/medical care, or help with their bills. The generosity of our community and the gifts of time, talents, and treasures is astounding. They are the reason we exist and we thank you for partnering with us to change lives in our community! Through the Galveston County Food Bank, we were able to purchase 96,872 lbs of food for our food pantry. The food was valued at $149,037 with our cost at $8,175.

The food was valued at $149,037 with our cost at $8,175. Food Drives are used to provide products that are not available at the Food Bank and to help supplement the purchased food. There are countless churches, small groups, social organizations, and schools that conduct food drives for us. Snap Kitchen and Panera Bread donate leftover food to our food pantry. Volunteers from Clear Lake Presbyterian Church serve monthly at the San Leon Mobile Food Distribution. Mobile Distributions We added a second mobile distribution of food this year in San Leon. Through mobile distributions and food fairs, 221,504 lbs of food valued at $360,253 were given to 2,393 households. Mission What are we doing? Healthy and accountable relationships grow and flourish when we encourage and support our neighbors, patiently living with each other in a way that proclaims the Kingdom of God is very near.

We proclaim and share this gospel message in all we say and in all we do. Educational Programs To teach is to touch a life.

This is evidenced by our most recent class of GED graduates who even though they are reaching their educational goals, are not ready to stop meeting together and have started a weekly Bible study.

The students have become vital volunteers in many of our seasonal programs including Kidz Dayz and Food Distributions. Our Educational Scholarship Program is mentor-based.

4 Values Why are we doing it? Christ s Love Loving service and care for our neighbors grows from the belief that Jesus first loved us so that we might follow His example in the way we love each other Encouraging Relationships Healthy and accountable relationships grow and flourish when we encourage and support our neighbors, patiently living with each other in a way that proclaims the Kingdom of God is very near. Gospel Hope Our hope for a better future is centered in the gospel message that Jesus life, death, and resurrection marked the beginning of God s promise to restore and reconcile all of creation. We proclaim and share this gospel message in all we say and in all we do. Educational Programs To teach is to touch a life. While we don t doubt the truth in that saying, it is also true that many times the students are the teachers. Our educational programs are centered on relationships. This is evidenced by our most recent class of GED graduates who even though they are reaching their educational goals, are not ready to stop meeting together and have started a weekly Bible study. Students in Life 101/201 participate in self-development activities and use scripture as the basis of understanding themselves. In both 101 and 201 there is a strong focus on serving one another. The students have become vital volunteers in many of our seasonal programs including Kidz Dayz and Food Distributions. Our Educational Scholarship Program is mentor-based. It is exciting to have our past students come back and serve as a mentors to new students. If you are looking for a place to connect in service with LCM, we invite you come and learn with us in our educational programs. LCM is helping me to get my GED after being out of school for25 years!
