A NEED FOR USED EYEGLASSES For more than 40 years the members of the Enfield Lions Club have been collecting used eyeglasses for recycling. After inspection and sorted they are sent to various underdeveloped countries. They are never given to foreign governments or sold for any purpose. Northwest Catholic High School will host an Open House on Sunday, November 9th from 1 4 PM and will administer its Entrance Exam on November 15th and December 6th at 8 AM. SACRED HEART CHRISTMAS BAZAAR Sacred Heart Parish of Suffield will hold its Annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, November 1, from 9 AM through 3 PM in the parish hall. Attic treasures, home made apple pies and baked goods, crafts, religious items, raffles, food court with chili and hot dogs, Holiday gifts, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus and over fifty vendors. Proceeds will benefit the Women s Guild Scholarship Fund. Sacred Heart s Bazaar is part of Christmas in Suffield, six locations in Suffield you can visit on November 1. Maps will be provided. 5 OCTOBER 26, 2014 CEMETERY CLEAN UP FOR FALL Clean up at St. Patrick s King Street Cemetery and St. Adalbert Cemetery will begin the week of November 3rd. We ask that all urns, containers and decorations be removed at this time and taken with you if you wish to retain them. It is very unsightly for discarded items to be left along the road. Reminder: artificial flowers are allowed after November 1 since it is not during the growing season. Decorative items and mementos of any kind are not allowed and will be removed and discarded. Check the Cemetery Rules sign or please call the Cemetery Office with any questions: Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our cemetery a serene and Godly place of repose for our loved ones. Other area cemeteries are also in the process of Clean Up. ALL SOULS ENVELOPES All Souls envelopes are available in the vestibule of St. Adalbert Church. Be sure to drop it in the collection basket at Sunday Mass. Your intentions will be remembered at every Mass in the month of November including our annual Cemetery Mass. If you know someone who is unable to attend Mass at St. Adalbert s but would like an All Souls envelope, please pick one up and pass it on to them. Thank you. CEMETERY MASS Our annual Cemetery Mass will be held next Sunday, November 2, 2014 at St. Adalbert Church at 2:00pm. Join us as we pray for those who have gone to the Lord from our parish. Attending the Cemetery Mass fulfills your Sunday obligation this year since it will be held on All Soul s Day. Take time to visit the cemetery throughout the month of November and pray for the faithful departed. (Please note that Mass will be at the church not the cemetery.) Come visit East Catholic High School during our Open House on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 6:45 PM. The entrance exam for eighth graders will be given on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 8:00 AM at East Catholic High School. Pre-registration for the exam is advised but not required.
